perhaps when rendering glowing objects, (at a high setting) if there could be some light effects shinning off the surface of the glow? currently it just renders a start white edge and casts light over near by surfaces. it would look nicer if the object look closer to light, not just a solid color.3 votes
Making the “Glow” option for materials actually emit light and bloom is a planned enhancement! Not sure when exactly we’ll get in, but we’ll let you know when we start on that.
Option to export background panorama created from flat image. It is visible now is Environment Light slot (see attachment).
Based on documentation, Dimension uses Content Aware Tool known from Photoshop. It could be impemented in Photoshop as filter as well, as it is very useful feature for every designer working in 3D environment.3 votes
HI! Great start on this application, could be amazing.
Right off the bat, it's imperative to be able to export a label or decal separate from the object it's on. Would be a great feature - not so usable until thats there. Thanks!
Thanks for the suggestion and details! We’ll definitely keep this in mind. It was something we investigated, but couldn’t do it too easily. I’m sure we can with some more time!
It would be great if Dimension CC count notify my phone when a render is finished. with like a txt or an email or something....2 votes
Thank you for the suggestion, very interesting! It does pop up an OS notification, but you’d prefer something mobile as you may not be there at your workstation, correct?
It would be nice to render while designing.7 votes
Colormanagement inclusion would be nice1 vote
Thank you for the details! We’ve heard some requests for managing colorspace before and something we’re definitely considering!
It would be great if the program could render in the background while working on separate tasks, like a different design without interrupting the render process, or render multiple images at once.2 votes
I would really love to be able to set up an isometric view :) (with and withouth dept of field) <35 votes
Ability to render to webgl to incorporate into json.2 votes
I would like to see the render progression in the taskbar in Windows10.
Kind of like in Premiere Pro.3 votes
The rendered file should take on the name of the native Dimension file by default.2 votes
be able to set maximum render time1 vote
Have render preview SETTINGS, the live render times are really bad, especially on heavier materials such as glass.
If there could be like most 3D programs a setting for render previews like wireframes, or quarter and so on, this will speed up the updating proccess.
Thanks you1 vote
Thanks for the suggestion! We plan on enhancing the canvas and render preview views this year and will definitely be exploring.
More flexibility and light control. Positioning is needed other than rotation.1 vote
We’re investigating making lighting more robust and exposing sIBL components for more control.
Once there is animation support it would be great to export in video.8 votes
Ideally I would like to be able to work and render at the same time. So consider have a separate tab or window for the render. This way I can render high quality in the background, while working on a new model, scene, etc in the foreground.11 votes
Thanks for the suggestion! Definitely something that would help fill up those render times, and something we’re considering!
I could see it being beneficial to have a pause button on the rendering process.4 votes
Thanks for the suggestion! We did in fact, used to have a pause button. But it broke so we had to kill it for a bit. :( It will return when we fix the pause mechanism!
All objects on a canvas are rendered as one PSD layer only. This is not good, pardon me, but it can be annoying to work with the selection tool for each and every object and detail when wanting to change sth in Photoshop.
(I noticed there was this topic already, yet closed for insuffucient support, I can hardly imagine that there are only two people requesting it.)3 votes
I think that one was closed because there was no description confirming that it was talking about layers in the PSD render. Your thoughts are much clearer! :)
This is something we’ve heard frequently actually and we are investigating.
It would be really nice to be able to use a pinch-zoom feature on my mouse pad, much like I can in Illustrator and like-products.2 votes
My 5 year old Mac has been rendering for two hours and has done only 4% of a 2000 x 1200 pixels image with no more than 4 objects. Maybe an overview would be nice, showing supported machines with examples of render time, based on a simple lay-out in comparising with a complex lay-out1 vote
This is a really interesting suggestion and something we’ve been considering. There are so many combinations of hardware that it’s hard to do a general overview. However, we are adding information about what types of things impact render times. The primary things are:
Also, effects like reflections or lots of objects bouncing light off each other, etc. There will definitely be more as we expand our features.
