Higher decal resolution
Higher resolution for decals would be nice. Had to add a decal to a product shot and it was pixilated on the render image.
Really annoying because I wasn't able to make FINAL detail shots of the product and had to add the decals in Photoshop by hand.BTW: Is there a limit for the resolution of decals?
37 votesHello everyone! First, I wanted to apologize for the delay in communication on this issue. I realize that unreliable, pixelated graphics are a huge blocker for the work you’re trying to do in Dimension. Due to a number of technical backend reasons, we weren’t able to start on this right away, but we’re now actively working on resolving this issue.
The engineering team has requested some user files. If you have a saved .dn scene with a pixelated graphic you can send in to help in testing the solution that you’re willing to send in, it would be much appreciated!
You can e-mail your .dn scene files up to 20MB directly to tickets@adobedimension.com. If it’s larger than 20MB please send via a link using Dropbox, WeShare, Google Drive, or another file transfer service. Please include a brief description to let me know the file shows a pixelated decal.

Facebook 3D photos - PLEASE!
I do a lot of product photos, would love to be able to generate what is needed to make the new Facebook 3D photos.

Extrude Vectors as 3D Shapes
Extrusion is a technique where a flat 2D shape or surface is pulled out to give it depth. Vector extrusion would allow users to import vectors as paths, then extrude those paths into 3D shapes. This would include some additional parameters like hard or rounded corners.
177 votesHello everyone! The Dimension team is very interested in the topic of creation/modeling/editing as a whole. We haven’t added any creation so far, but are actively researching this area. We have a new survey on modeling and editing and would love your thoughts on the topic!

Qued Rendering
Qued rendering/animation
3 votesHey, just to verify, did you mean ‘queue’ as in to setup multiple renders? If so, can you add more detail?
Do you want to queue multiple documents? Multiple views?
Dimension has Camera Bookmarks which you can render in a queue.

Faster Saving!
I appreciate the WYSIWYG approach, but it should not take so long to save a simple scene when it takes less time for other 3D environments to save files with similar workloads.
Have a dedicated Adobe Stock folder installed on the machine for 3D assets for the program to reference to avoid such massive loading times (or taking up space in temp storage).
I'm not sure if loading the textures when you open the file would contribute to the load or save times, but I'd put an option to disable it just in case. Create a separate shader view if…

cross section
Is there any plans to include cross section feature? that can be very helpful to built empty boxes from any object.

Add depth to decals
Depth slider for decals as seen in Keyshot
4 votesWe plan on adding a depth slider for decals to give embossing and debossing effects in the future. I don’t have a specific timeline for that yet, but it’s on our roadmap!

Package Design - Create 3D Model from Dyeline/Blueprint
I'd like to be able to build a product package from a dieline created in Illustrator, fold it along specific lines, give it a UV gloss on parts, add foiling and embossing where required.
133 votesHello everyone! I hope you’ve had a great holiday season. We’re just getting back from the break and I’m excited to say we’re moving forward with some great research and design on our dieline > 3D model feature. We have a survey with some questions from the research team. Any time is greatly appreciated!

Decals as smart objects when rendering to PSD files.
One of my client has multiple products with the same bottle but different labels. I'm not sure if this is possible, but it would be nice to explore having the decal of a rendered model become its own smart object when rendering to a PSD file. Switching the image in the smart object out for each new product as opposed to rendering the same products over and over with a different label would be a real time saver.
8 votesThanks for the suggestion! I’d love to know here if rendering was faster would you prefer smart objects in Dimension so you can place the new graphics in 3D? The reason I ask is mostly because if we bake the materials and lighting down to 2D there’s a bit more limitation on what you could do with the PS smart object. For example replacing the packaging label wouldn’t update to show in reflections or refractions in the rest of the scene. Is that an okay limitation?

Camera Lens options
I'm doing renders and wanting to emulate a 50mm Canon FD lens that I have in my kit. It occurred to me that Lightroom has all of the details on every one of these lenses AND the distortion/vignetting that those lenses apply to the image.
Proposal:
Add lens options to the camera feature to enable us to replicate existing lenses. This would include the option of adding lens distortions (this is especially valuable in renders with high-dof where rendered objects are out of focus and near the edge of the frame where barrel distortion would change how the focus appears) …
2 votesThank you for the suggestion! This sounds like something we would want to add in the future.

Custom Light Objects
Lighting in Project Felix is currently handled through the Environment and Sunlight objects. Custom light objects would allow studio setups, with area lights that can be positioned, sized, rotated, colored, and set at varying intensities.
106 votesHello everyone! Jeanette from the Dimension team here. Excited to say that lighting is a topic that’s up next for us and as someone who has expressed interest in more lighting controls, we’re sending you a survey!
You can take the survey here:
https://goo.gl/forms/OqjdQIkLYG1MMaN62Lighting is such an exciting topic because it’s critical for both photorealism and unlocks such potential for creativity. Deep appreciation to all who can find the time to take the survey. It should take about 10-15 minutes and will help kickstart some research we’re running.

Don't allow file open to Interrupt render
When many windows are open and rendering is happening to a file in the background it is too easy to interrupt the render by double clicking on a .dn file. Can you give an alert box to prevent interrupting the render in progress?

Render transparent PNG's
Hi Guys,
I used to be able to export a model with a transparent background by going into design mode, going into environment settings and unchecking the background layer. But that does not seem to be the case anymore.
Another thread contained a message from about 8 days ago that has a similar problem: https://feedback.adobedimension.com/forums/552559-adobe-dimension-feature-requests/suggestions/17420401-final-render-transparency .
The model now exports with a background, irrespective of the settings that I give it.Hoping to hear from you soon, and thank you for a great product.
