Faster Rendering
Render times are slow, not usable.
Render times are way to slow. If I render a simluaur scene in Cinema 4D, it takes only 1,5 - 2 minutes instead of forever...
46 votesWe released Dimension 1.1 today which has some great performance boosts. Scenes now render an average of 20% faster. In our tests the actual increase was up to 67% faster but the gain is variable for the complexity of the scene and the quality of the render.
However, we’re not done and will continue to optimize performance, especially for rendering times. Please enjoy the increase and look forward to more!

GPU Rendering
Would be nice to use this with external GPU. My 2015 MBP with AMD Radeon is running fans so loud, it is hard to listen. And the speed of rendering is pretty slow.
Otherwise I definitely love the idea of 3D app for designers inclouded in CC. Just as handy, as Adobe Muse. Can't wait to see next versions.
106 votesHello everyone! I know it’s been quiet on the GPU side of things for a while now. I wanted to let you know it’s been actively under the works for a bit, but a lot going on behind the scenes. Here’s what I can say so far!
In Dimension 2.0 we’ve launched an entire new rendering engine, the Adobe Dimension Renderer. This is an in-house rendering engine which allows us to have more direct control over many things. We’re actively working on GPU support and have our first beta proof for the RTX cards, demoed at Adobe MAX last week:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B4zNBOYcD1sThis includes an overhaul to being able to interact with the render mode, so thinking about both rendering during design work and as final renders. We’re still working on this and are looking to port the technologies to new cards and platforms (AMD, Mac Metal, etc.)

Auto-Save
Crashes Then Corrupts Original File - We NEED AUTO Backups!!
If we had automatic backups, my 5 hours of work would not be lost. Felix IS the next major player in the 3D modeling market so this is a MUST HAVE safety feature.
10 votesHello! Definitely a great suggestion and something the team is considering heavily right now. It didn’t make our first few beta releases, but it’s on our roadmap for sure. I’ll let you know when we’re closer. :)

Wireframe/Shaded display feature
For better performance it will be helpful to add wireframe / shaded display of object while working on project as it takes time to apply any action

Is there any way to clear the Dimension cache?
clear cache option
2 votesAh gotcha! There’s no command for that at the moment but I’ll bring it up with the team! For now you’d have to close the app and re-open it.

Intel Embree ray tracing libraries
Does the renderer in Dimensions use the intel Embree ray tracing libaries? I don't think it does because the renderer seems slow to me (as someone who uses other renderers that do use Embree).

Better performance for high polygon objects
Please optimize the viewport for high poly models.
I get .obj data from my customer that are relatively complex
what causes that Dimensions performace at working with the models isn't really possible :-(BTW: Rendering works fine.

Detailed System Requirements Info
I received a message that my machine does not meet one of the requirements for the program to run optimally, but it does not tell me which requirement my machine is not meeting. It would be nice if you had a utility or some way of showing which system requirements are met and which ones fall short.
1 voteGreat suggestion and something we’re planning for our next release. We have the information in the logs and it’s pretty easy to add it to the dialog! In the mean time if anyone needs help figuring out what system requirement they don’t meet, feel free to send in a 1-1 request (you can do so on the main page here, in-app, or by e-mailing tickets@adobedimension.com).
When sending in a request be sure to include your Application log files.

4 votesWe’ve added customizable shortcut keys to the application preferences. At this time we are not planning on doing a quick-look keyboard shortcut overlay, but we’ll continue to keep an eye on this!

Allow the user to select the number of cpu cores used for rendering -- rendering maxes out all 8 cores on my machine.

This should be a Windows 10 UWP app like Adobe XD.
