It would be very helpful to have control over the saturation of the lighting form the HDR.2 votes
Great suggestion – can you go into more detail here though? Would you want just saturation or also contrast, etc? Why?
Under 'scenes', want way of making the menu alphabetical ,for sure, but also perhaps date modified. Sometimes there are too many and it's very boring looking for things which because you're zoomed in, you don't want to find by looking at the object then clicking.1 vote
We’ve started some discussion around adding scene panel sorting & filtering. Not sure if we’re doing it (yet) but actively discussing!
I import Sketchup Scenes and would like a easy overview of my allready existing materials that I can replace quickly with the dimension materials. At the moment I have to pull in every material on every face which is quite a pain if you have for example a hundred chairs.1 vote
The title is just a static "Adobe Dimension"
This makes using automatic time tracking software impossible to decipher what file was being worked on.
Should be an easy addition1 vote
Thank you for the suggestion. This is not something we’ve currently been looking into, but I will mention it to the design org who handles the larger application frame UI and UX.
It would be awesome to be able to create multiple “product configurations” that can be setup for easy rendering. For example, take a product packaging scene that needs many different textures for multiple product label versions/locales/languages/etc. Currently, each variation must be rendered out by hand individually, and there is no way to batch anything at the moment.
In this scenario, each camera "render view" would still be the same, but the textures, materials, models, environment, etc. could all change.
Take a look how Onshape and Keyshot handle their configurations. Onshape's configurations, though a CAD package, is incredibly powerful!1 vote
Variations for objects is tentatively planned, but not something we’re working on just yet.
Targa is a very common format for texture maps. You can open them in PS and convert to PNG/JPEG but it would be nice to have them work with Dimenion right away.1 vote
Hello I would like to share my designs with others so that they need to have a passwork to access the work.1 vote
Dimension used to have the "Tool options" in a "view control bar" above the canvas. With an update, the "Tool options" was moved to a pop-out window attached to the toolbar.
PLEASE make an option for users to move the "Tool options" back to the "view control bar".1 vote
Thank you so much for the feedback, we are looking into better display of tool options. Let us know if you have any more thoughts you would like to add!
Would be nice to be able select multiple objects and apply the same decal to all at one time - multiple selection amd apply : )1 vote
Thanks for the suggestion here! Should be pretty easy to do. I’m curious would you primarily be selecting different objects of different shapes and sizes or primarily duplicated similar objects?
If the object has multiple parts would you want us to put the decal on all selected parts?
Display images at 100% -Double-click the Zoom tool in the toolbox.
Fit an image to the screen -Double-click the Hand tool in the toolbox.
These options can be very useful when we are changing canvas size and want to center canvas1 vote
We already have Normal Map, Roughness, and Metallic. The addition of a Height Map input would be great to add more detail and make more realistic / defined materials. With just the Normal Map input it feels restricting on the level of detail for material textures.1 vote
ability to add textures without having to sign into libriries1 vote
For applying to a material channel, you can double click the material to edit it, open the image for the channel (such as color, roughness) then use the file browser folder icon to browse for an image. We can certainly find a way for this to be more upleveled!
Please add PTC ( prt, asm ) files for adobe so that we can add models made in PTC Creo.1 vote
This may already exist but it would be nice to have a section that has which lighting and other options (such as material) has been chosen.
For when you can't remember what you have chosen!1 vote
We are reviewing some way to see assets that are already in-use in your document.
It would be fantastic to be able to embed a Published 3D Scene into Behance and Adobe Portfolio, so that besides the static rendered images or product photos, potential clients visiting my profile/site would be able to see my designs from all angles.1 vote
Great suggestion! Have you tried the publish to web button we have on the top right corner? Would be great to hear what you think about it.
We do not yet have a way to embed our content into websites and definitely looking into it.
Materials with the same name (for say a duplicated object) need to be linked BY DEFAULT. The current behavior of duplicating an object and having materials that are independent is a super bad problem. Right now if a change is made to one, you have to go link other instances and that's just tedious and painful.1 vote
We believe linked asset behavior is important, and it’s certainly something we’re discussing.
Is it possible to add Label mask to Material Selection Masks layer within rendered psd?
Currently, a rendered psd has Material Selection Masks and Object Selection Masks layers. None of them display label mask if label is applied and rendered.1 vote
It should be possible to provide a selection mask in Photoshop that has the outline of the decals or graphics applied to a model.
I just have a scene with several possible lightings, so I have to change lighting, render, change lighting, render ... and so on.
I know I could save every scene in a seperate file but it would be much easier to handle if it would work with a bookmark like the one for the camera ...1 vote
We are considering a system for having variations of objects, lighting, and camera as different scene arrangements.
It would be nice to be able to toggle render options on and off per object like...
1. primary visibility
2. visible in reflections
3. visible in refractions
4. casts shadows
5. receives shadows
6. emits GI
7. receives GI
These options should be available when you click on the 3D object and see the transform info on the right side of the window. Maybe there is another tab with render options? I would imagine that features like this could reduce render time and allow for that extra customization you cant get in real life.1 vote
Thanks for the great suggestions! We do have visibility toggles planned, but I’d love to know more about some of your other requests – any examples of the types of workflows you’d be using those in?
The render quality is great, would love more control of colors and effect.1 vote
