Materials with the same name (for say a duplicated object) need to be linked BY DEFAULT. The current behavior of duplicating an object and having materials that are independent is a super bad problem. Right now if a change is made to one, you have to go link other instances and that's just tedious and painful.1 vote
We believe linked asset behavior is important, and it’s certainly something we’re discussing.
Is it possible to add Label mask to Material Selection Masks layer within rendered psd?
Currently, a rendered psd has Material Selection Masks and Object Selection Masks layers. None of them display label mask if label is applied and rendered.1 vote
It should be possible to provide a selection mask in Photoshop that has the outline of the decals or graphics applied to a model.
It would be nice to be able to toggle render options on and off per object like...
1. primary visibility
2. visible in reflections
3. visible in refractions
4. casts shadows
5. receives shadows
6. emits GI
7. receives GI
These options should be available when you click on the 3D object and see the transform info on the right side of the window. Maybe there is another tab with render options? I would imagine that features like this could reduce render time and allow for that extra customization you cant get in real life.1 vote
