  2. snap to grid

    Is there a way to make objects snap to the grid? Unreal allows you to and its really useful for spacing. Rulers would be nice too.

    We released Dimension 1.1 which includes snap to ground. This will automatically move any object to the ground when you’re interacting with the move tool and it gets very close. While you can’t snap to the ‘grid’ lines on the ground yet, this is a first step in snapping and we’ll add more functionality moving forward! I’ll leave this idea open to track snapping to grid points/lines.

  7. Toggle Object Visibility / Render

    If the user has more than one object in the scene, individual objects could be turned on/off for better performance.

    Example: I have two bottles and six splashes. I would like to focus on just one bottle without deleting the other 7 objects in the scene. The feature would have an eyeball (Ps) that concealed it from the render update and edit viewport.

  8. Depth layer

    A layer in the finished PSD with a depth-map (white closest, black furthest away, shades of grey in between, I'll post an example later if unclear) would be very helpful for post-work. It would make "DOF-like" effects possible to add later in Photoshop using Lens Blur or other filters. Rendering DOF is quite resource-intensive, and you only get one shot to get it right (sort of like when you actually take a photograph in real life), if you have the depth-information available to you later you could "fake it", often to a satisfactory result, and also tweak it to your…

  10. PBR based workflow / Substance Designer integration

    It would be great to see your texture inputs for materials follow a more traditional physically based rendering workflow. This is useful when creating content across different apps to keep a uniform look.
    I would love to see these attributes for each material along with what currently exists like opacity, translucence, IOR, etc..

    albedo/diffuse (flat color)
    metallic (how reflective) or specular
    roughness (how blurry for reflections) or glossiness
    normal/bump (micro surface lighting info)
    height/displacement (displaced geometry based luminance info)
    ambient occlusion
    curvature
    fresnel (reflectance based on normal)

  11. Export "textures" and "materials" to edit in Ps

    I use applications like Substance Painter, Maya, VRAY to render 3d Objects that can then be used in compositing tools. One area of weakness for Substance Painter for game developers is the ability to "export" as a tga, psd or png fie the texture applied to the model once the effects are applied. It would be a useful feature to have in Felix so could tweak the material in Photoshop then reapply to the object.

    Hello all! Dimension 1.1 released today with a new feature for editing images in Photoshop.

    From any image field in the properties simply open the image picker window then click the edit button to open it in Photoshop. Read more about the release here: adobe.com/products/dimension/features.html

    I need to import my maya models. There is no documentation about the importing 3d model file types, is it?

  13. Drag & Drop into Scene Panel

    Currently you can drag and drop most things into the viewport but not to the scene panel. Adding models to the scene or adding materials onto a selected model that's not currently visible or selected would be possible with drag-n-drop between the content panels and the scene panel.

  14. Snap Angle for Rotating

    When rotating a model and holding the Shift ⇧ Key, the angle should snap to some fixed degrees, like the rotation tool in photoshop.

  16. Scan for System Requirements

    you need a way to scan the local system gpu | drivers to make sure Felix will work on it... the current wx only assumes people with wx have a gpu thats up to the task and that may not be the case

    p.s, as it is now pressing rendor on a system without a good gpu | driver just does nothing at all... imo it should at least spit out an error file

    The latest release of Project Felix 0.3 – available on Creative Cloud as of July 19th, 2017 – allows you to change between color and texture without discarding the texture. As a note, once you confirm the color selection it will still discard the texture to ensure we don’t keep unused data in your file and memory which can bloat the file size and use up memory resources.

    Happy to say we have a new camera bookmarking system where you can save views and easily return to them. Every new document starts with a default view and you can return there in the bookmark menu or by using “Cmd+1” on Mac or “Ctrl+1” on Windows to return to your active home view.

    These updates are available in the latest release of Project Felix 0.3 – available on Creative Cloud as of July 19th, 2017.

  20. Change Render Output Size

    Cool program, but larger output files would be more useful. I would use these for compositing work in photoshop but at the current output size, it's kind of pointless
