I need to render objects that intersect the ground plane. I have an object that would be partially underground and when I composite it with an aligned background image there is no way to render anything that is below the ground plane3 votes
You can disable the ground plane in the environment properties. This will render it without shadows/reflections as if there was no ground. Please let me know if that fits your needs, or if not, then why?
The ability to copy and paste any image from Illustrator, Photoshop, Google, and any other app! Copy/Paste should work from general clipboard for images.3 votes
As of Dimension 2.0 (October, 2018) Dimension now supports copy/paste functions from the clipboard. You can copy images from Photoshop, Illustrator, or other sources, and paste as graphics into Dimension.
you guys need to add a cancel load button for large objects that are too big to load and take too long... i'm having to force quit the program to cancel a big object from loading... i have my own library of objects3 votes
In Dimension 1.1 you can now cancel loading for large objects if you change your mind. We’ve also fixed some issues that resulted in the loading bar never finishing.
A way merge group objects into a single object and the ability to rename objects and grouped items.3 votes
You can use Cmd or Ctrl+G to group objects together. Grouped objects can be moved together and you can assign materials to the whole group.
As far as I see I cannot change the color of background or any given abstract background by drag and drop from CC Libraries. The error message is "... Felix does not recognize this type of file." So I have to type in each color individually - which can get quite tiresome.3 votes
Dimension 1.1 now supports reading colors from Creative Cloud Libraries! Colors are read-only at the moment but we plan to add save-to-CC Libraries functionality for colors and other element types in the future.
As I import objects that have many items in a layer folder, I feel I should be able to mass apply a material to the grouped item and have this material apply to all items in the group. I see there is a folder in the layers that has all the pieces that create my grouped item, I feel I should be able to drag the material to the folder in the layered tree and have that material apply to everything in the folder. See attached. Thanks!3 votes
Happy to say you can now apply materials to groups and multiple selections. We’ve also added a sampler tool which allows you to quickly sample and apply materials across objects.
These updates are available in the latest release of Project Felix 0.3 – available on Creative Cloud as of July 19th, 2017.
Also I have set a background image and want to match color of the background with image (have some transparent region) but their isn't eyedropper option to take color sample from image colors. IMHO that would be helpful3 votes
Happy to say the new version of Project Felix 0.3 – available on Creative Cloud as of July 19th, 2017 – has several new sampling options available:
1. A sampler tool has been added to the toolbar for sampling and applying materials across objects.
2. When you open any color swatch a sampler tool is available in the color picker and can pick screenspace colors – for example material color, background color and light colorizations can all select the color from the screen in this way.
is there any way to assign a light emmiting material to a object2 votes
As of Dimension 2.0 the Glow material now properly emits light into the scene. The glow material can be used to make glowing objects and area lights.
Need an undo option2 votes
Interesting. They are the first option in the Edit menu. What language version are you using?
Scale dimensions need to be linked (the same way as in AI, ID or PSD). So I can scale the object proportionally.3 votes
Dimension now has a link icon in the properties panel which can be used to input uniform scale numbers. With the gizmo you can also hold shift to make all scaling uniform.
Would like to be able to control reflections and shadows on the ground plane2 votes
The newest release of Project Felix (now named Adobe Dimension CC) has updated controls for adding reflections and controlling shadows on your ground planes.
Keep keyboard shortcuts same as in other apps (as much as possible), such as V for Move so don't need to learn too many new shortcuts2 votes
We updated a few of our tools back in the March release (V for Move, W for Magic Wand, R for Rotate and S for Scale). We’ll continue to keep an eye on this, for the moment will be closing.
I think Dolly camera shall be renamed to zoom and icon shall be changed to Magnifying glass instead, to make it more align with standard tool convensions.2 votes
Hello all! Project Felix 0.2.0 is available today with a slew of updates and enhancements (you can see the full list here: https://helpx.adobe.com/beta/project-felix/using/whats-new.html)
For this release we have renamed dolly to zoom, added an additional shortcut of Z key and changed the icon to magnifier to closer align with other Adobe tools. However, we are still exploring 3D versus 2D zoom behaviour.
when will project Felix be available to use with Mac OSX Sierra2 votes
Hi there! Just a quick message to check in on this feature since it has already been a month since it was posted. There isn’t a ton of new news in the meantime, we are gathering info on who is participating in our UserVoice forum with a short 5 minute survey – check it out!
If you are interested in joining our Prerelease program then this is the way to volunteer yourself. Prerelease participants get early access to builds before they are released to the public and we’ll ask for additional insights/feedback.
When I am importing a model that I previously created in C4D, the textures applied in Dimension do not inherit the UV Mapping that is already present. So a texture being applied to a cylinder with a slight inclination results in the texture wrapping to an incorrect ratio, resulting in what can be seen in the attached image. Image of original C4D model with UV Mapping is attached1 vote
If you apply a graphic as a separate layer it uses a floating ‘decal’ projection. If you want to apply a texture to the original UVs you currently need to double click on the model to select the material then apply the texture to the base color.
In the future graphic layers will have a fill mode that can be used to apply to the entire model. This is planned for our next release in 2019.
Toggle placed decals visibility in a stack to see different graphics variations on the same surface.1 vote
Thanks for the suggestion!
Dimension 2.0 has the option to hide/unhide all scene objects, including decals.
The way to do this is, go to the scene panel, hover over the decal name that you want to hide, and click on the visibility icon to hide and unhide the layer.

This program is awesome. The only thing I need is the ability to import a complex models and be able to select each piece individually. If this can be achieved, please advise me how.
Yes, this is possible today. If you create a model with multiple parts then the .obj format will preserve those and they will be selectable in Dimension.
One note is that every 3D program exports to .obj differently so you may need to look up tutorials for your application to preserve parts when saving to .obj.
When I hit control Z, it did not undo my camera move. Would be awesome to include camera moves as an undoable step.1 vote
You can undo and redo your camera movements, but it does use a different shortcut to prevent you from accidentally moving your camera when trying to undo an action.
The undo shortcuts are Function < and Function > or you can find them in the Edit menu.

Would like to be able interrupt and save a render at it's current state, or have menu options easily available to do so.1 vote
You can do this today. Please click on the “Snapshot” icon which is a camera icon in the render progress bar area to save the current progress.
