  1. Snap Angle for Rotating

    When rotating a model and holding the Shift ⇧ Key, the angle should snap to some fixed degrees, like the rotation tool in photoshop.

  3. History or Revert feature

    A revert feature would be great in this app - just to provide some recourse when experimenting with lighting and material properties etc.. Learning by trial and error I am quiting quite a lot in order to get to a previous point [ultimate would be a history like Photoshop of course!]

  4. More camera options

    It would be nice to have a set of camera options to take the best out of Felix. I've already left some comments around giving some ideas to what it could be possible to do but I'm going to leave a Feature Request with everything in place and explained.

    Camera should have these basic navigation tools controlled by Mouse/Keyboard and Menu:

    • Move Up and Down; (Shift/Ctrl+W/S or PageUp/PageDown)
    • Move Left and Right; (A/D)
    • Move Forward and Backwards; (W/S)

    • Yaw; (Mouse Drag)

    • Pitch; (Mouse Drag)

    • Roll; (Q/E)

    This would allow to easily position the camera around the scene and get the…

    Dimension 3.2 just released which includes some new camera controls including Roll, Field of View, and Dolly/Zoom (FoV & Camera forward/backward combined).

    In the future we may expose a method of controlling in ‘flight mode’ with WASDQE controls.

    For now the default controls are:

    1: Orbit (Yaw/Pitch)
    2: Pan (Up/Down/Left/Right)
    3: Dolly (Forward/Backward)
    4: Tripod (Look around)
    5: Roll (Side to side)
    6: FoV
    7: Dolly/Zoom (Both FoV & Dolly)

    You can change these to custom buttons in the preferences keyboard shortcuts area.

  5. Rename and Merge Objects & Groups

    A way merge group objects into a single object and the ability to rename objects and grouped items.

  6. Universal tool for combined navigation

    It would be better for the navigation to be like most 3D applications, where you have a universal tool to be able to zoom, rotate and change direction with the combination of keyboard button. It is really annoying to keep on selecting different tools to navigate. This should be rather easier than this.

  7. Scan for System Requirements

    you need a way to scan the local system gpu | drivers to make sure Felix will work on it... the current wx only assumes people with wx have a gpu thats up to the task and that may not be the case

    p.s, as it is now pressing rendor on a system without a good gpu | driver just does nothing at all... imo it should at least spit out an error file

    The latest release of Project Felix 0.3 – available on Creative Cloud as of July 19th, 2017 – allows you to change between color and texture without discarding the texture. As a note, once you confirm the color selection it will still discard the texture to ensure we don’t keep unused data in your file and memory which can bloat the file size and use up memory resources.

    Happy to say we have a new camera bookmarking system where you can save views and easily return to them. Every new document starts with a default view and you can return there in the bookmark menu or by using “Cmd+1” on Mac or “Ctrl+1” on Windows to return to your active home view.

    These updates are available in the latest release of Project Felix 0.3 – available on Creative Cloud as of July 19th, 2017.

  11. Change Render Output Size

    Cool program, but larger output files would be more useful. I would use these for compositing work in photoshop but at the current output size, it's kind of pointless

    When you add a graphic to a model as a new layer, the properties now has a new “mode” option.

    Decal mode will treat the graphic as a floating layer you can position on the surface.

    Fill mode will flood the layer across the 0-1 UV space of the model. If the repeat is at 1:1 and the rotation and offset values are at 0 you can use fill mode to have multiple layers in perfect UV space.

  14. Render Objects Below the Ground Plane

    I need to render objects that intersect the ground plane. I have an object that would be partially underground and when I composite it with an aligned background image there is no way to render anything that is below the ground plane

  15. Copy/Paste images from other apps

    The ability to copy and paste any image from Illustrator, Photoshop, Google, and any other app! Copy/Paste should work from general clipboard for images.

    As of Dimension 2.2 (released April 2, 2019) we now support importing Substance materials in .sbsar format. Not all substance materials will be supported fully (for example Dimension does not yet have displacement support). We’ll continue to work on supporting more Substance material types and properties in the future!

  17. cancel load

    you guys need to add a cancel load button for large objects that are too big to load and take too long... i'm having to force quit the program to cancel a big object from loading... i have my own library of objects

  18. Accept colors from Creative Cloud

    As far as I see I cannot change the color of background or any given abstract background by drag and drop from CC Libraries. The error message is "... Felix does not recognize this type of file." So I have to type in each color individually - which can get quite tiresome.

  19. Linked Object Scaling

    Scale dimensions need to be linked (the same way as in AI, ID or PSD). So I can scale the object proportionally.

  20. Material all items in a single group. Drop Material on Group folder in layer Tree

    As I import objects that have many items in a layer folder, I feel I should be able to mass apply a material to the grouped item and have this material apply to all items in the group. I see there is a folder in the layers that has all the pieces that create my grouped item, I feel I should be able to drag the material to the folder in the layered tree and have that material apply to everything in the folder. See attached. Thanks!
