  2. Render Objects Below the Ground Plane

    I need to render objects that intersect the ground plane. I have an object that would be partially underground and when I composite it with an aligned background image there is no way to render anything that is below the ground plane

  3. Copy/Paste images from other apps

    The ability to copy and paste any image from Illustrator, Photoshop, Google, and any other app! Copy/Paste should work from general clipboard for images.

  4. Native Support for Susbtance Materials

    It would be great if you could easily import and add to the Assets panel, Substance materials built in Substance Painter / Designer.

    As of Dimension 2.2 (released April 2, 2019) we now support importing Substance materials in .sbsar format. Not all substance materials will be supported fully (for example Dimension does not yet have displacement support). We’ll continue to work on supporting more Substance material types and properties in the future!

  5. cancel load

    you guys need to add a cancel load button for large objects that are too big to load and take too long... i'm having to force quit the program to cancel a big object from loading... i have my own library of objects

  7. Accept colors from Creative Cloud

    As far as I see I cannot change the color of background or any given abstract background by drag and drop from CC Libraries. The error message is "... Felix does not recognize this type of file." So I have to type in each color individually - which can get quite tiresome.

  8. Linked Object Scaling

    Scale dimensions need to be linked (the same way as in AI, ID or PSD). So I can scale the object proportionally.

  9. Material all items in a single group. Drop Material on Group folder in layer Tree

    As I import objects that have many items in a layer folder, I feel I should be able to mass apply a material to the grouped item and have this material apply to all items in the group. I see there is a folder in the layers that has all the pieces that create my grouped item, I feel I should be able to drag the material to the folder in the layered tree and have that material apply to everything in the folder.   10. Eyedropper for sampling color for background color

    Also I have set a background image and want to match color of the background with image (have some transparent region) but their isn't eyedropper option to take color sample from image colors. IMHO that would be helpful

    Happy to say the new version of Project Felix 0.3 – available on Creative Cloud as of July 19th, 2017 – has several new sampling options available:

    1. A sampler tool has been added to the toolbar for sampling and applying materials across objects.
    2. When you open any color swatch a sampler tool is available in the color picker and can pick screenspace colors – for example material color, background color and light colorizations can all select the color from the screen in this way.

  14. Use Adobe Shortcuts

    Keep keyboard shortcuts same as in other apps (as much as possible), such as V for Move so don't need to learn too many new shortcuts

  15. Dolly should be Zoom

    I think Dolly camera shall be renamed to zoom and icon shall be changed to Magnifying glass instead, to make it more align with standard tool convensions.

  16. Save After Render

    Can't change the name of the file to export once the render is completed. it seems the image must be re-rendered to save it with a new name.

  18. Apply Textures to existing UV Space

    When I am importing a model that I previously created in C4D, the textures applied in Dimension do not inherit the UV Mapping that is already present. So a texture being applied to a cylinder with a slight inclination results in the texture wrapping to an incorrect ratio, resulting in what can be seen in the attached image.     If you apply a graphic as a separate layer it uses a floating ‘decal’ projection. If you want to apply a texture to the original UVs you currently need to double click on the model to select the material then apply the texture to the base color.

    In the future graphic layers will have a fill mode that can be used to apply to the entire model. This is planned for our next release in 2019.

    Hi!
    Thanks for the suggestion!
    Dimension 2.0 has the option to hide/unhide all scene objects, including decals.
    The way to do this is, go to the scene panel, hover over the decal name that you want to hide, and click on the visibility icon to hide and unhide the layer.

  20. Selecting individual model pieces

    This program is awesome. The only thing I need is the ability to import a complex models and be able to select each piece individually. If this can be achieved, please advise me how.

    Yes, this is possible today. If you create a model with multiple parts then the .obj format will preserve those and they will be selectable in Dimension.

    One note is that every 3D program exports to .obj differently so you may need to look up tutorials for your application to preserve parts when saving to .obj.
