  3. Tradeshow kits? Yes, please!

    I think this would be great for tradeshow booth mockups. If there were stall and booth kits in here I'd be using them right now to prep for CES.

  4. Auto Link Textures to CC Libraries

    When importing an already textured 3D object, Felix should automatically duplicate texture files into the user's CC library of choice and automatically link the textures with the Felix file

    This is so that textures that have already been applied need not be set up again in Felix.

  5. Flip Normal Directions

    I tried to import an object made of Autodesk Fusion 360 and been transformed into OBJ through Autodesk 360.
    When I apply a material like wood in rendering the object appears completely black.
    I think the problem is related to the direction of the normal ... would be useful under felix have a command to invert the normal.

    Another problem: there is the ability to scale the textures?

  6. save environment

    Provide the ability to save the environment as a template so it can be reused with many different models. For example, if we want to use it to render product photos, so they all have a consistent presentation (lighting, materials, etc.).

    Thanks for the idea! We’re evaluating saving many things. We’re starting with saving models and materials, but may include full templated scenes later. For the moment I’d recommend saving your .dn scenes itself then you can import a new object.

  7. Background Artificial Sky & Cloud Controls

    In many cases it is easy to find a good exterior photo to use as a background. However finding photos with perfect sky is problematic. If you could add composting controls for sky and clouds it would make the compostition interactive.

  11. Environment Object Models for Animation

    Created 3D props should have the ability to be exported to After Effects, Character Animator, or Photoshop Vanishing Point in order to be used as scene props in animation. This would be amazingly helpful when attempting to create multi-camera shots of the same scene without having to reanimate the angles/perspective of 2D objects. Dynamic linking could allow for DImension, Fuse and After Effects cameras to create real-time 3D environments for modeling and animation. Lastly, you guys rock! Thank you for all of your hard work!

    Thank you for the suggestion! Just to clarify with a specific ask, you’re looking for an export format of some type that would save your entire 3D scene in a way that could be read and shared between Dimension/After Effects, for example. Is that correct?

    Felix currently supports standard material types like wood, glass, metal, and plastics. Additional types could include effects and complex surfaces such as iridescent, glowing, skin, and layered materials like car paint.

  13. Make each object a new layer in PSD, instead all on just 1 single layer.

    All objects on a canvas are rendered as one PSD layer only. This is not good, pardon me, but it can be annoying to work with the selection tool for each and every object and detail when wanting to change sth in Photoshop.

    (I noticed there was this topic already, yet closed for insuffucient support, I can hardly imagine that there are only two people requesting it.)

    I think that one was closed because there was no description confirming that it was talking about layers in the PSD render. Your thoughts are much clearer! :)

    This is something we’ve heard frequently actually and we are investigating.

  14. Show HDRI IBL in Background

    When you apply a spherical HDRI image to the background, there should be an option to unfreeze the image so when you orbit, the background changes with it.

    additionally, if an HDRI is chosen, it would be handy to have sliders in the options bar that allow you to change the image rotation, and scale. See attached concept

  15. Add Image to 3D Scene

    I love that this is built for designers with image backgrounds, but as a photographer this could be huge for compositing. So basically I need the reverse. I need to be able to take a masked layer (say a masked out runner) and throw them into this scene and have refraction (glass) or what not to interact with the masked layer of the runner. so the ability to bring masked layers of photos into the scene to render out with objects is what I'd love to have! I currently have to do this in C4D

  16. Render Option to set bit (8, 16, 32)

    Option to set bit (8, 16, 32) would be good. Right now only option 32 bit is quite overkill. Rendering time is way too long.

  18. History - Clickable & Action-able

    Similar to Photoshop, a clickable list of the history of alterations.

    I have always wanted in Photoshop (and now desire it in Felix) the ability to select some of the History and make it an "action" which I could use on other objects in scene or in new scenes.

  20. Height Map Input

    We already have Normal Map, Roughness, and Metallic. The addition of a Height Map input would be great to add more detail and make more realistic / defined materials. With just the Normal Map input it feels restricting on the level of detail for material textures.
