  1. Export as PNG

    I would like export just an object to png format as well as drag to the library? I cannnot find these functions. Is it too soon?

    • Direct selection tool

      Please use two selection tools like you do in illustrator and in design the "selection tool" and the "direct selection tool". Consistency across UIs is important, but these objects have to be vector based. [The magic wand from Photoshop which is for raster-based images.]

        Our standard Move, Rotate and Scale tools have group and direct selection for object parts.

        If you have the “group select” option turned on (on by default) try holding down Cmd/Ctrl and clicking. That should ‘direct’ select just the objects that are in the group.

      • Model Shop / Asset Store

        For instance, I would require a book model, and having somewhere within the app to buy a book model would be great, being able to look through models and get just the bits we need would be very handy, especially if some were very cheap or free?

          This actually already exists! When we launched Project Felix we also started a new 3D section on Adobe Stock, which includes models, materials and lights. There’s a bunch of content ranged from free to premium pricing, and more content will be added regularly.

        • Only Show Supported Files During Import

          When importing models it would be great if there was a filter to show only the supported file types. This will prevent importing unsupported files and is a nice quick way to see what types are supported.

          • Set object hierarchies in scene explorer

            I want to be able to drag an object to another in the scene explorer to set dependencies, like parent-child. so when I transform the parent, the child gets transformed, too

            • local coordinates vs. world coordinates

              Editorial option to toggle between local and world coordinates. Currently the translation tools are only world coordinates.

              Example: In the guitar movie, if a user wanted to position the guitar by sliding it along the neck, it's not an option unless the neck is 90º to camera. (*assumes the guitar is modeled along a single axis)

                Hello! You can toggle between local and world coordinates for both the Select & Move and Select & Rotate tools. The shortcut key is “Q” or you can click on the “Align to World” toggle in the tool options located at the top-left of the viewport.

              • Save After Render

                Can't change the name of the file to export once the render is completed. it seems the image must be re-rendered to save it with a new name.

                    The tutorial shows a color picker to change object colors. I am not seeing that capability here.

                      You should be able to do this by expanding the disclosure triangle in the scene panel next to the mesh name to see the materials that are applied. Click on the material and the properties panel will be updated to show all the properties of the material which you can edit.

                    • Assign Materials to Parts of Objects

                      I dont know if it's a bug, but I can't figure out how to put liquids inside the bottle without making the whole bottle in that material, and also the same problem with the cap non the bottle.

                        It's a cool start.

                        A few critical tools are missing to make it more useful for actual work though

                            First you’ll need to select the material (not the object). You can do this in the scene panel by expanding the triangles next to the mesh to see the materials applied and then clicking on that. The properties panel will update to show you the material properties.

                            Another way you can do it is to look in the Document panel (bottom left) which shows you all of the materials currently in the document. This might be slower or faster depending on how complex your scene is.
