Export 3D Objects
I'm sure you hear this a lot, but it would be great to have the ability to export objects in .C4D and .FBX file formats to be able to bring them into programs like After Effects and directly into Photoshop.
139 votesDimension 2.3 is now available (July 16th) and has new export options for .dn, .obj, and .gltf/glb. You can also save models in .dn format from your .dn projects directly to CC Libraries.
You can read documentation about the new export options here: https://helpx.adobe.com/dimension/using/supported-file-types.html#export-models

Add multiple decals to a single surface
Add multiple different decals to a single surface
123 votesHappy Monday, October 15th, everyone! Today we released an update to Dimension CC – the 2.0 release! This update includes…. multiple decals! I know it’s been a long time coming, so thank you for your patience.
Just a note that the scene panel got some UI updates, so materials no longer show as part of the primary scene object list. Instead, click on the right-hand arrow next to the object to ‘dive’ down into it’s appearance section. Then you can see all of your graphics in a layer-based system for reordering!
You can see more about the release here:
https://helpx.adobe.com/dimension/using/whats-new.htmlHere’s a video on the updated materials as well:

Place image on model surface
In making a 3d package design... I'd love o be able to drag and drop a jpg or vector art directl onto the surface of my object and be able to move it around, bigger, smaller. If that os an option now I don't understand the process
103 votesIn case you haven’t heard… Project Felix is now Adobe Dimension CC! In the latest release (available now) we have some great new features for image placement.
1) When adding images to materials you can tile, rotate, and offset the textures to really customize the looks of the materials.
2) You can now add decals as isolated graphics on top of the material. Decals can be positioned, rotated, and scaled independently of the base material.
There are a few caveats (always at a 1.0) I wanted to let you know about. You can only have one decal per material right now, but we’ll be expanding that in the future. Also, decals are not really designed to wrap 360 around an object. They have a pretty good range, but if you need a full wrap you’ll still need to do some 2D layout in UV space. We’ll be working on more…

Directly input dimensions of an object
I have a book cover that is 6x9x.75. It would be ideal to have the ability to input dimensions rather than scale.
The ability to select units would be great, but to begin simply making it proportional would make it functional.
90 votesHello all! Happy to say that Dimension 2.2 shipped today (April 2, 2019) and now has some new units and size capabilities!
Here’s some documentation on the new units settings:

Render Progress
Currently when you render you just know it's happening, but no idea how long it will take. Having some indication of time, even if a rough estimate, would allow me to plan. I could make a decision about reducing settings to get a faster render or taking a break and doing other things and know when to check back.
Attached an example of the render estimate in Photoshop.

73 votesHello all! Project Felix 0.2.0 is available today with a slew of updates and enhancements (you can see the full list here: https://helpx.adobe.com/beta/project-felix/using/whats-new.html)
The Render Mode now includes a true progress bar and a time elapsed counter. A time estimate counter will come in the future but this should give you a much better sense of time to completion and status.

More 3D formats
Dimension CC must have more than one import file, not only OBJ, it must have STL, IGS ... Because if the 3D modeling programs that any user uses, do not export in OBJ, we will never work with Dimension CC because it limits our work
57 votesHello all! I am closing the request for “More 3D Formats”. There are now specific feature requests for each format.
If there’s a particular format you want added please vote/comment on that.

Import .AI Files
Import AI files
(edited by moderator: see separate idea for extruded 3D shapes from vectors: http://projectfelix.uservoice.com/forums/552559/suggestions/31410262 )
53 votesHappy Monday, October 15th, everyone! Today we released an update to Dimension CC – the 2.0 release! This release adds support for .ai format image import! Please note that vector files are still rasterized once imported into Dimension. This is currently required by the rendering process, so be sure to save your vector images at the pixel size you intend to use it at in Dimension! In the future we’ll update this to preserve the vector nature in Dimension.
You can see more about the release here:

Import or Merge 3d Models from a other Dimension Scene
Import 3d Models from a other Dimension file (.dn)
50 votesDimension 2.3 is now available (July 16th) and has new export options for .dn, .obj, and .gltf/glb. You can also save models in .dn format from your .dn projects directly to CC Libraries. Dn exporting and importing allows you to save the full detailed models including materials, decal layers, and other attributes, and merge them into other scenes.
You can read documentation about the new export options here: https://helpx.adobe.com/dimension/using/supported-file-types.html#export-models

Queue Multiple Renders
It would be great to have a way to queue up more than one render if you need more than one angle of a product (I do, often). This way you can set a computer to do all the renderings you need and not having to touch it until its done working.
49 votesHappy Monday, October 15th, everyone! Today we released an update to Dimension CC – the 2.0 release! In this version you can now use your saved camera bookmarks during render time to queue up as many renders as you’d like and run them all together.
You can see more about the release here:
https://helpx.adobe.com/dimension/using/whats-new.htmlHere’s a video on the rendering updates in Dimension 2.0:

Import SketchUp .skp model format
Love to be able to import SketchUp created models into Felix directly, without needing to convert them into .obj
41 votesHappy Monday, October 15th, everyone! Today we released an update to Dimension CC – the 2.0 release! We now support importing .skp models! Please note that file format support is ongoing. Be sure to report any bugs or compatibility issues you run into.

Material Transformation (Tile, Rotate, Scale)
How can we create material? How can we adjust the mapping on the material. This is quite necessary for any kind of makeup. I have been a 3D studio max user for a long time, and this software with its own simplicity can easily replace 3D studio max for me.
34 votesExcited to say that Project Felix was just announced as V1.0 of Adobe Dimension CC. The newest release has new controls for Material scale, rotate, and offset, as well as the new Decal feature for adding images on top of the base material.
Please post additional enhancement requests as new ideas so we can begin tracking the status. Don’t forget to search and vote!

Move to Ground Plane
Currently you have to manually line up the object to the ground plane. Felix can auto-align the camera to an image so it would be nice to auto-align the object to the plane as well.
32 votesHello everyone! Happy to say that the Dimension 1.1 release just went live with some great updates, one of which is the new Move to Ground functionality. There’s a menu shortcut and an action button so you can easily move any object at any rotation so it’s perfectly aligned with the ground.
There’s also new snapping features for the move tool to help with ground alignment as well. Check out the release notes for more details on other released features as well!

2D Camera Controls with Background Scene
I can understand the camera controls being 3D when there is no 2D scene in the background. However, once I have put in the 2D scene, it is infuriating to have my horizon misaligned when I meant to zoom in to the actual image, and not in 3D.
It would be great if there were an option, once a scene is in place, to have the "camera" stop being a 3D camera, and turn into a photoshop-like viewport, where I can literally zoom in and out of the entire image, without moving the 3D objects relative to the scene.
31 votesHappy Monday, October 15th, everyone! Today we released an update to Dimension CC – the 2.0 release! We’ve done a lot of work on the canvas area of the application and included the “2D” style canvas that is more traditional for Adobe applications. This change does mean there are some keyboard shortcut changes:
1, 2, 3 = Orbit, Pan, Dolly (the 3D camera controls)
Z = is now the 2D zoom tool
H and spacebar = is now the 2D pan toolYou can see more about the release here:

Align Objects in 3D
While creating 3D sculptures, I would love the option to align the different shapes (centered/External sides...) based on space or between objects.
31 votesDimension 2.3 is now available (July 16th) and has a new Align and Distribute action.
You can read about the new align and distribute tool and see how to use it here:
https://helpx.adobe.com/dimension/using/align-distribute.html -
Import Materials Option
Currently you can download materials from Adobe Stock to desktop but there's no way to import it without going through CC Libraries.
Adding a File > Import Materials option will allow for downloaded materials or materials created in other apps to be imported.
27 votesHello all! Project Felix 0.2.0 is available today with a slew of updates and enhancements (you can see the full list here: https://helpx.adobe.com/beta/project-felix/using/whats-new.html)
You can now import materials that you’ve downloaded from Adobe Stock via the File > Import Material menu option. This option will both import the material and apply it to your current selection.

T-Shirt / Clothing Assets
I want T-Shirt Asset 3D modeling data.
& Wear image.26 votesThe Adobe Stock team recently added dozens of new models including a wide variety of clothing and apparel. There are t-shirts folded, in piles, on mannequins, and more.
-
Save Camera Positions
Ability to save camera positions and return to them.
24 votesHappy to say that we have added a view bookmarking system to the latest release of Project Felix 0.3 – available on Creative Cloud as of July 19th, 2017.
-
Link image files and update saved changes
Being able to link my image files so when I save the changes in Photoshop/Illustrator, etc, it is updated in Dimension.
22 votesDimension 2.2 shipped today (April 2nd, 2019) and now has the ability to link images and graphics from CC Libraries. This has the full functionality of CC Libraries between other applications, so updates will happen instantly across your apps if they’re both open, or you can collaborate with others and get notified when an image is updated.

Camera Depth of Field
support depth of field in the camera
21 votesHello! Project Felix was just renamed and released as Adobe Dimension CC! Really excited to say we did release the Depth of Field effect for adding blur and focus with the camera. A few notes though!
We know it’s really powerful so we wanted to get it out there, but there’s some things missing that we’ll be working on for an update.
1. There is no Depth of Field in the canvas. Please be sure to turn on the Render Preview window in design mode to see the effects.
2. The settings can be very sensitive at large and small scale scenes. We’ll improve this as we add units and better scale handling.
Hope you enjoy and please post follow up feature enhancement requests as new ideas so we can track them!

Unit Settings
This program is useless without the ability to draw objects in scale, i.e. transformation pallette should be in metric or imperial. Make it just like Illustrator just 3D and I will switch from my current 3D modeling/rendering app.
20 votesDimension 2.2 shipped today (April 2, 2019) and now has unit settings! You can choose your 3D units for your scene and also scale objects relative to their size (IE a box that is 10 cm tall).
