Keyframes for creating animations
Hey all, just wanted to give a little update on Animation for Dimension. We believe animation is an important part of working with 3D and do plan to include animation features in the future, however it will not be for 2019. Likely this will start in 2020 but I’ll update as we get closer!

Would be really cool to have!

Would loooove for this to be an option!!

Is an animation feature now deployed for Dimension?

FBX import all the way.... looking forward to seeing what the next update looks like & hoping that we have scope to bring motion into such a great renderer....

Any update on the addition of animation for Dimension? This would be pretty awesome!
Visual Intern commented
Yes, yes, yes please!

Being able to import animations from 3d Content Creation tools (3ds Max, Maya, Blender etc.) through .fbx would be a good start. Using Dimension to easily export models for the web, that is about the only time I would this software for rendering of any kind. Any updates on timeline since your April 3rd post?

maybe a turntable animation with one folder for png frames and one assembled final movie file when rendered, like in the program key shot.

Simple animations with keyframes. Maybe integration with After Effects.

This is an incredible app, id like to see animation options, movie export, modifiers and being able to change polygons and faces (full modelling facility)
Do you have that in mind for the next releases?
Morgan Caldbeck commented
And yes, being able to use on websites for interactive pages would be great!

I love the idea of simple animations. A good reference for you guys while reviewing this would be the way Sketchup handles animations for camera movement. I'd really like to be able to create a movie clip that includes keyframes between views. For example, I'm doing renders of a label design for a water bottle that I'm rebuilding. It would be awesome instead of doing 3 separate renders to instead animate the bottle rotating in place. You could do this simply by using the saved camera option dimension already has, and just allowing the program to auto-move between saved views. That would be the simplest course of action.

Would LOVE at least simple animation support to make turn-arounds, export turn around videos. I make product renders of 4 sides of my product currently in Maya. Would love to move to something less expensive than Maya but so far this product does not have what I need.
can i make video of a product in dimension??

You could start adding simple camera animation for product visualization and latter object animation as well.
But please add keyframe!

For quick product Animations but please with keyframes! Not like the unflexible solution in Keyshot.
That would be so grat in dayly work process.

I'd love to be able to use Dimension to render customized turntable animations and to be able to export them as a looping GIF's with transparent backgrounds (for posting on websites) or as .mov's.

Product designer using Keyshot to render, would love to be able to do walk through videos or even 360 stills/video like you can in Max to out do key shot. Love adobe and if i could switch to rendering video in this too it would trounce anything else.

The ability to create motion in your scene for use in Photoshop or even exporting your stationary 3D object for use in After Effects would be killer!

I think it would be really helpful to have a simple keyframe moving system that could render frame by frame and export all frames to photoshop as a photoshop movie for further encoding. Could even just export as a sequence of pngs as long as there is transparency.
