3D Painting link between Felix & Ps
Adobe could really take Felix to the next level, by adding the ability to paint on a mesh with UV's in Photoshop and communicate with Felix, by painting diffuse, spec, normal map then render within Felix send it back to Photoshop for the composite.

Great suggestion. You can currently do 3D painting in Photoshop and then export the model as an .obj file so I think the key here with this request is to have a more live-linked experience. Could you talk more about what you’d want there?

I'd like to paint directly gradients and/or multicolour on a material

Jeanette,
the big advantage of Photoshop over all other 3D apps is that I can see a 3D object within a layered composition. I can adjust the 3D object in every way until it "fits" into the composition. And I can adjust all my layers at the same time. So it´s a perfect way to get a perfect layered composition.
Now with Felix, I can only Import the raytraced (or maybe OpenGL) Version into PS, but I cannot alter the rotation, light etc. So I have to go back to Felix, change all I want to hange, go back to Photoshop (maybe in the future with a smart object), check the layered composition again, just to find out that I still need to tweak something. You get the idea: It´s a back and forth between PS and Felix.
Or think of working on materials. I want work on them in PS, when the model (which I created in Felix) is in PS.
One could discuss this endlessly.....Stefan Klein
If Felix and PS are not 100% compatible, you loose the big advantage that PS´s 3D has.
It´s a back and forth like with any other 3D app. -
@fotogestaltung - I'd love to know more about your workflow and why you want a 1-1 3D scene in both applications. This isn't currently something we're planning because it would require basically putting everything Felix has inside of Photoshop. We built Felix as a standalone app to really deliver a great experience, so we're looking more at live-linking between the apps. Would love your thoughts on why that might not be enough.

What we actually need is 100% compatibility between Photoshop and Felix. Models as well as materials need to be compatible. Lights, camera etc., as well. We need to be able to make a whole 3D scene in Felix and take it to Photoshop as 3D scene and vice versa.

Can I ask a question here?
I've been using the 3D object painting features in PS for years now. Love/hate them but mostly love them :) Are there plans to eventually move those features into Felix or have them more refined in PS.
They are incredibly powerful but can be very buggy, the talk of having a live link between Felix and PS scares me as the live link between a 3D model and texure with in PS breaks quite a lot :( -

I'd like to be able to paint with PS brushes directly on the model in Felix, with my Wacom tablet

You import your object into Felix, it contains UV or you've done changes to the UV's in Felix. Following by sending the object with the UV's to Photoshop considering as you know Photoshop has the ability and you paint, color, diffuse etc keeping the live link active between Photoshop and Felix you send the maps back to Felix, Felix can either do it automatically or with user control if wanted by the user on where to place the maps (diffuse, spec etc). Photoshop would require some live link or hub. The creative cloud app could be used as a live link or hub.
