Separate Camera Objects
Having the camera as a 3D object in the scene
have the camera as a placeable item with controls of FOV, the render preview works of that so that we can work on the scene and have it not change in the preview

Perhaps you could create types of cameras...one that allowed you to view the scene as though the scene was real...that is to say you would see things the way they would like wherever you positioned the camera. The other type of camera would let you get behind the scene or over it. It would for utility and wouldn't be for rendering. Though, given the correct point of view, it could be converted to a render-view camera if it didn't violate any of the scene's parameters.

maybe have it as a preference.. I could see the use of it but i can also see not needing it for most of my work

It could be great to allow us to make a map turn.
To have the possibility to create one camera, for the render, and let us the possibility to move around the 3D model, without this camera we locked.
