Hello,
I completely agree with this feed.could it be possible to browse the scene based on Material hierarchy instead of Geometry?
I'm in the sam e case a Big assembly with a lot of parts and want to replace the material of all the parts which share the same one. -

I import Sketchup models, they are organized in numerous groups, each group with many materials. I would like to change ie insert substance or adobe standard materials on a global basis. It would be great to select objects based on material and to globally replace a material when they are in groups of mixed materials.

Right now the folder structure of scene object materials is a bit cumbersome. I get that you can link them but if you have a large scene with a lot of objects it's quite cumbersome to have to click on each object you want to update with the new material you've selected.
The right hand panel grouping in Dn doesn't allow you to drag the divider up or down which even further complicates object material selection as you have to scroll. I always end up missing one. :)
I propose an icon or panel that would allow you to quickly brows all of the materials in your scene.
From that panel you would be able to do multiple functions by right clicking. I've attached images to illustrate my proposal.

To add to this, would be a nice option to just create a simple material. i.e. I have a box and would like to remove a panel. I can do this by adjusting the opacity. But right now, it seems that I need to add a new material and then reduce the opacity. Would be good to have this created (maybe) from right clicking with the magic wand tool (just a thought as a potential tool trigger point).

Yes the document section allows you to access the materials of your scene but you don't seem to have a way to either rename them, move them in a different order for better organization. You don't even seem to even be able to rename them in the document panel unless I'm missing something. You can name them on the sides and the scene panel or attribute panel but not the document window where you actually apply them.
