Save Custom Materials
After editing a material or adding textures to create my own it would be great to save the material for reuse in other projects.
Hello! The Dimension team is gathering some feedback around various export requests. If you’re interested in providing more detail on your request for exporting workflows, please take a moment to fill out the following brief survey:
Export material to CC library is mandatory.
Export to U3M (universal material) may be useful

Saving a material you've made is such a basic need it's astonishing that Adobe hasn't addressed it. I'd love to know why it hasn't been done. Almost any app in adobe you can save color or brushes - basically anything.... yet not in this app.... come on - we are all paying subscription - I'd like to know the reason we can get a save material feature???

How in the world has this not been part of the program since day one? Even if I am using one of Adobe's own materials and make drastic edits to it to create essentially a brand new material I can't save it for use inside another project? This basically makes Dimension useless other than pasting a JPEG on a coke can.

I agree - I would love to have this ability.

Wait. What? This isnt actually a feature? I thought i was going insane and was trawling the internet to find out how to save a material I made into the library. How is this not a basic requirement?
Carina Williams commented
Can't wait for this feature (saving imported material settings!) Thanks!

This should have been the very first software development before releasing Dimensions

The survey for this feature seems to be missing the point. Any other 3D software can easily save materials to libraries that can be loaded for other projects. It's frustrating that this is not possible with Dimension. I'd expect to be able to drag and drop materials and objects to a personal library.

Thank you very much for this new version of Dimension and for these great new functions ! I am now using Dimension for professional orders and I have just finished a series of packaging visuals for a catalog. Being able to save materials and be able to share them with CC libraries is what I need most now.

We are in high demand of this feature. It is very annoying not being able to save our work and having to write it down to remember the constraints.
I, too, am in need of this ability to save customized (edited) materials. I don't understand what the difficulty is for enabling that feature.

I would suggest Adobe either develop this program, or remove it. It seem there are a lot of people who find it..since they are paying for it, only to be disappointed.

This program is hugely underdeveloped. I can't save a flipping material?!

What's going on with this? I'd really like to make this program a part of my professional workflow but not having this available is a huge problem and IMO just unprofessional on adobe's part.
Justin Raymond commented
Not sure why this hasn't happened yet. It's frustrating to always have to remake materials from project to project.

I'm really interested on this, as it will be needed for our workflow.
We need materials like the Brushed Aluminum to be rotated, recolored and roughness changed. We need to save that configuration so all the projects look the same.

I really need this function - to save materials for use in other projects. Any news on when this function will be added? People have been asking for a couple of years now. Thanks!

Any updates on this?

An ability to save materials that you created to CC Libraries. We already have the ability to download materials, and we also have the ability to create materials through Adobe Capture and save them to our libraries. But it would be nice to be able to save our materials to our library from our computer from materials that we have created within dimension for easy access in different projects. Instead of having to completely recreate them by importing the Diffuse Map / Normals / Rough etc.
