Multiple materials on a siblge object, identified with a selected clipping mask.

        Agreed - the magic wand doesn't work very often, and if it doesn't, you are completely stuck since there are no modeling tools available in dimension. There should be a face level selection tool like in most 3D rendering software.

        When you have the magic wand tool active, look just above the canvas for the tool options. One of the options for the wand is Tolerance. You can set it to tiny, small, medium, or large selections. Try reducing the tolerance size.

        I'm not sure, i might not be using it correctly. when i select the magic wand and try to select an area on an object, it just selects the entire object (or any other object i click on) i'm not sure how this is different from using the direct selection tool. Am i missing something?
