I used to be able to export a model with a transparent background by going into design mode, going into environment settings and unchecking the background layer. But that does not seem to be the case anymore.
Another thread contained a message from about 8 days ago that has a similar problem: https://feedback.adobedimension.com/forums/552559-adobe-dimension-feature-requests/suggestions/17420401-final-render-transparency .
The model now exports with a background, irrespective of the settings that I give it.
Hoping to hear from you soon, and thank you for a great product.2 votes
For some reason my low poly figurine rendered with some black edges. Kept tweaking the model, but I can't get it fixed.2 votes
We’ve identified that there are some issues with normals and smoothing in some situations but we don’t have a resolution for this yet. We’ll continue to investigate!
For anyone who experiences issues with their models rendering partially black please e-mail the file to email@example.com with a description and a link to this forum.
When importing a model that should have images with it the textures are missing in Dimension.1 vote
In order to import textures you must have several files:
- the .obj file contains the meshes
- the .mtl file which contains the material data
- and the textures files (.jpg/.png) which are the images.
The .obj and .mtl file must be in the same directory when you import the file. The .mtl file must be properly pointing to the local file paths for the textures.
For anyone experiencing issues importing a model with textures please send the files you’re importing to firstname.lastname@example.org and we can take a look.
