macOS Mojave 10.14.3
Mac Pro 5.1 (mid 2012)
SAPPHIRE Radeon PULSE RX 580 8GB GDDR5
Only the start screen appears, on it the message "Loading application ..." and nothing more. I uninstalled and reinstalled the app, but it did not help. What is going on?3 votes
The issue with older macs not launching Dimension correctly came up when we introduced our new rendering engine which has specific instruction sets that aren’t supported on older macs. We weren’t able to get enough information to fix it before so the newest build has more information in our logging system. If you can get the latest version from Prerelease and send your DimensionGPUProfiler.log file to me at email@example.com that’s the most helpful!
If you’re not already a member, you can join the Adobe Prerelease program on that website then request access to Dimension.
I've downloaded Project Felix, app starts and I get the introduction panel, as shown in image. The preview video works, the two options; "create a new project" and "start a guided tour" do not open. When either option is selected, the black triangular pointer with blue loading circle appears but program seems to get stuff at that point.81 votes
We’ve resolved some past issues of some users not being able to use Dimension, however there is a known issue still remaining.
Video cards that do not support a specific instruction set (AVX/AVX2) will not be able to run Dimension. This is primarily video cards from early 2012 or earlier.
At this time our System Requirements checker is unable to ‘catch’ this and leads to the application crashing on the Start Screen when the New Document or Get Started buttons are clicked.
At this time we are unable to fix this issue or catch to throw an error. We are continuing investigation on this.
For some reason my low poly figurine rendered with some black edges. Kept tweaking the model, but I can't get it fixed.3 votes
We’ve identified that there are some issues with normals and smoothing in some situations but we don’t have a resolution for this yet. We’ll continue to investigate!
For anyone who experiences issues with their models rendering partially black please e-mail the file to firstname.lastname@example.org with a description and a link to this forum.
When importing a model that should have images with it the textures are missing in Dimension.2 votes
In order to import textures you must have several files:
- the .obj file contains the meshes
- the .mtl file which contains the material data
- and the textures files (.jpg/.png) which are the images.
The .obj and .mtl file must be in the same directory when you import the file. The .mtl file must be properly pointing to the local file paths for the textures.
For anyone experiencing issues importing a model with textures please send the files you’re importing to email@example.com and we can take a look.
When I select the Render Mode and Click on the Render button (no matter what quality or export format), the screen never renders anything; nor does the render preview. My guess is there is something wrong with loading the v-ray engine, but I don't have any way of actually determining that. I don't have anything else that runs VRay, so not sure what's going on.1 vote
For anyone experiencing issues with the V-Ray Render Preview window or Render Mode being blank please try the following:
1. Please try a system restart. There is a known issue with the way our licensing for V-Ray calls home that stops working if the system hasn’t been rebooted in a few days
2. Please try updating your video card drivers. Often fixes graphical issues.
3. If neither of the above help please send an e-mail to firstname.lastname@example.org with your log files and a reference to what the issue is. There are two logs:

I want to render images with no backdrop. So by unchecking "Background" in the Canvas tab along with "Ground Plane" lets me do this. HOWEVER, after rendering the model it always leaves a grey stroke around the object.
Here's an image showing what I mean, I filled in the background black to make it easier to spot.1 vote
I was able to reproduce the issue and have filed a ticket for review.
rectangular image on a round asset gets squeezed at edges
Making a ball, inserting a rectangular image as decal (2310x248px) makes the edges of the decal squeeze so the middle is far higher than the edge of the decal.1 vote
In the CC Libraries panel, search for "round serving plate" with both Models and Photos selected as filters. NO results are returned. Select only the "Models" filter and 1 model appears. Select only the Photos filter, and dozens of images appear. I would expect both models AND photos to appear when both filter choices are selected.
Curiously, searching for "bottle" with both Models and Photos selected returns a bunch of models, no photos. But selecting only Photos returns a bunch of photos, as expected.
The filter behavior is incorrect and inconsistent.1 vote
I’ve reported this issue to the CC Libraries team.
For me it's a bug and not a missing feature, but the scale value of a texture can't be negative.
It's a pity because some time when you want to mirror the texture it's easier to scale to -x instead of generating a mirrored image or editing the 3D model.2 votes
Creative Cloud Libraries titles are un-readable.
Appear to be displaying in wrong font. I use other Adobe products (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop) and do not have this issue.1 vote
Hm, not sure what could be going on here, but I’ve reached out to the engineering team. CC Libraries is a shared panel between many apps so will report to that team as well.
Dimension (all builds) locks up when importing certain 3d models (obj files)... no error message is given and you have to force windows to close the software.
example obj that has this effect is the free crawler obj from NASA
work around for this case is to open crawler in Photoshop and export as a wavefront obj1 vote
Thank you for the example and details! We’ll take a look.
The shadows are not multiplied over the background image but rather added. So the result is light gray areas where it should be darker.1 vote
We’re investigating a few compositing issues with the ground plane and lighting that are causing some artifacts such as the light shadows.
