    Hi Michael,

The properties panel always shows object's local rotation and scale. If you change the X scale, rotate, and change the X scale from the properties panel, the object's local X scale still is the thing that changes. It does not change the object's Y scale if you rotate in the X axis and then set the X scale from the properties panel.
So if you are seeing something different, it is not the intended behavior but I cannot reproduce your issue. A video or gif could help figure out what is going on.

    Hi John,

I will bring up your concern about the mouse direction to the team but in the Adobe software that does have this functionality, e.g. After Effects and Premeire, the movement has always been left to right and we are trying to keep things consistent.

Nudging is one of those little things that is hard to get time to implement when there are large features that need development but I will try to make sure it gets in sometime soon.

I applogize for giving you the wrong directions to get to the Set as Default setting. I should have said go to File>New with Settings... or go through the Start screen and click the '...'

    Hi John,

    Thanks for the feedback.

I think the spinner behavior you are looking for is built into the labels for each value. So if you drag on the X label it will scrub the X value based on your mouse movement. You can also focus an input field and use the mouse wheel to change values. Let me know if this is not what you are looking for.

We are looking into adding nudging to everything but what are you looking for specifically in regards to maps?

You can set the default unit but clicking on the '...' next to Create New on the start screen, or by going through File>Document Settings, and choosing a different Scene Unit and leave Set as Default checked.

    Hi Marty,

I understand your frustration not being able to copy and paste between Dimension files as we do not currently support multiple documents open at the same time. We will fix this in the future.

For now your best bet might be to export the geometry you want to use for multiple projects via File>Export>Selected Models...

    Hi Cliff,

I can't reproduce your issue. When I enter a value into one of the position, scale, or rotation fields and hit tab it goes to the next field and commits the value. Do you have any more specific repro steps in terms of what kinds of models, mac or win, any more info would help.

    Hi Cliff,

Transform Each is pretty interesting. We don't have that yet but I'll keep it in mind.

For now you can use the Align and Distribute widget to do some of what you want. To activate it select all the items in your group, not the group itself, and click on the align icon in the Actions Panel. Then you can drag on the ends of the widget to resize the overall bounding box of the selected items without actually scaling them.

More info can be found here: https://helpx.adobe.com/dimension/using/align-distribute.html

Hi Andres, could you expand on what you would like here? Do you want to be able to customize the toolbar to place all the subtools at the top level or do you want to be able to dock the tool options panel?

The latest release of Dimension now includes. a control preset for Substance Painter which is similar to the 3D industry standard of Alt being the main camera control activator.

However, this only controls the camera presets, not additional tools like WER for move, rotate, scale.

We’d love some feedback from anyone who tries out this preference on whether camera controls being similar to other 3D apps is helpful without additional controls presets for other tools like the transform tools.

You can use right mouse button or two fingers on the trackpad to orbit, middle click or spacebar to pan, and scroll wheel to zoom. What would you like alt to do?
