    We released Dimension 1.1 today which has some great performance boosts. Scenes now render an average of 20% faster. In our tests the actual increase was up to 67% faster but the gain is variable for the complexity of the scene and the quality of the render.

    However, we’re not done and will continue to optimize performance, especially for rendering times. Please enjoy the increase and look forward to more!

    Hello everyone. Excited to say we’ve started some investigations for adding text to Dimension later this year. We’re initially looking at 3D text but may also include 2D text or decal text in the future. I’ll update here as we progress!

    Any plans of Felix having type capabilities at any point? Also more render controls would might be good, like being able to change the size/aspect ration etc. Do you have any plans for Felix to be able to animate down the line?

    A little confusing. I would like if we could design 3D objects in the program. Also, I think it would be superior if we could import an object into Felix, tweak to taste, then import and be able to work with the object in After Effects. It's a little annoying having to go back and forth when working in Cinema 4D. If I could create objects in Felix then work with them in After Effects, I would be ALL over Felix. Thanks for reviewing.

    Hello all! Today (April 2, 2019) Dimension 2.2 released and provides free cloud rendering for all users! This is a free beta and we are still testing things so it has some limitations.

    Each user will receive 15 credits per month. Credits refresh on the first of each calendar month. You cannot purchase additional credits at this time.

    Renders consume credits based on quality (low: 1, medium: 2, high: 3). So you can do 5-15 cloud renders for free per month.

    Renders are limited to 2000 × 2000 pixels size for cloud rendering.

    This is just for the beta period and we plan to change as we get feedback from everyone about this feature. There is a survey about the feature that will appear in the application and you can reach it here: http://www.adobe.com/go/dimension-cloud-render-survey

    Hello everyone! Just wanted to say we are starting work on some lighting features this year. While I don’t know the full scope of what we’ll be able to release this year yet, some areas we’re exploring are:

    More directional lights (like the sun) with a lightpainting interface to create custom environment lights.

    Improvements to our Match Image feature to be able to detect and generate multiple indoor lights.

    Improvements to glow materials to make them more expressive.

    Additions of haze, environmental atmosphere, etc.

    Last, but not least, actual 3D placed light objects.

    I’ll update here when we have a more scoped vision or a prototype for testing! :)

    Additional lighting support. As you can see in the render screenshot my bottle's shadow is not in exactly the correct angle compared to the other shadows. It was very hard to see if the angle was right from the previews so a shadow preview would be nice.

    Add specific lights and gpu setings make tools easier to use and find. Add better library of objects textures, water, etc. Better shadows are needed.

    Exporting objects is complete (internally) and will be available in the next version of Dimension. Our initial export formats are:

    .dn (for lossless workflows between Dn projects)
    .obj
    .gltf and .glb

    I’ll update again when the new version is shipped, but wanted to let you know as I’ve seen a lot of action on this idea lately!

    I was hoping I could create my own 3D model to import into Unity...I would love a way to do that (or figure out that on here if there is a way)...I don't think Unity recognizes the file type.

    I think that (especially for me, as someone who loves creating film and VFX in AE), you should be able to export your textured models as 3D files which can then be imported into AE or Cinema4D!

    Not useful yet for packaging mockups because of the inability to accurately map images. This would be very helpful. As well as export to a 3D PDF.

    Work for multiple view windows hasn’t begun and is still in review. While we understand the value of multiple viewports we have a good bit of work to do on improving the one viewport we currently have. We’re focusing on the current composition, bookmark and render experience for this year but will probably start looking into multiple cameras and viewports more next year.

    Hello everyone! I know it’s been quiet on the GPU side of things for a while now. I wanted to let you know it’s been actively under the works for a bit, but a lot going on behind the scenes. Here’s what I can say so far!

    In Dimension 2.0 we’ve launched an entire new rendering engine, the Adobe Dimension Renderer. This is an in-house rendering engine which allows us to have more direct control over many things. We’re actively working on GPU support and have our first beta proof for the RTX cards, demoed at Adobe MAX last week:

    This includes an overhaul to being able to interact with the render mode, so thinking about both rendering during design work and as final renders. We’re still working on this and are looking to port the technologies to new cards and platforms (AMD, Mac Metal, etc.)

    I would like to see native support for 3D Connexion Mouse since that is what I use with my other 3D programs such as Poser 3D and DAZ Studio.

    This looks very promising, it would be nice to impliment control with a 3D mouse from 3Dconnexion to interface with the models. More control over rendering size and a meter showing how much time is left for the rendering.

    It reminds me a lot of Cinema 4d. Not a bad thing but I think what would make this an awesome feature is if I could drop in my Ai or EPS files to turn those into 3d elements for video compositing in After Effects.

    I'm sure someone has brought it up before, but it would be amazing to be able to bring in illustrator files (ie logos) to create mockups in one easy step. As is you'd still have to bring the rendered result into photoshop and play with the lighting within photoshop to match what you rendered here. This would be mind blowing if it could work.

    I am a Data Visualization Designer, i often use Maya to import my Illustrator files to then extrude and create charts in 3D. Would be cool if down the road i could import illustrator components into Felix so i could just ditch Maya and stay within the Adobe cloud. Love the ease of Felix so far.
