    The latest release of Dimension now includes. a control preset for Substance Painter which is similar to the 3D industry standard of Alt being the main camera control activator.

    However, this only controls the camera presets, not additional tools like WER for move, rotate, scale.

    We’d love some feedback from anyone who tries out this preference on whether camera controls being similar to other 3D apps is helpful without additional controls presets for other tools like the transform tools.

    Hello everyone! I wanted to thank you for a lot of patience on the topic of creation and modeling in Dimension. I thought I’d provide a small update here.

    Dimension 3.2 just released with our first native creation features, including text and basic shapes.

    In the future we do expect to have some more creation like vector extrusion and lathing, but don’t have a release timeline for that yet.

    I will l say we are also working on some cool mesh editing capabilities, so you can customize models instead of having to start from scratch.

    I hope to update here soon with more progress, but in the mean time, I hope you enjoy text and shapes!

    A little confusing. I would like if we could design 3D objects in the program. Also, I think it would be superior if we could import an object into Felix, tweak to taste, then import and be able to work with the object in After Effects. It's a little annoying having to go back and forth when working in Cinema 4D. If I could create objects in Felix then work with them in After Effects, I would be ALL over Felix. Thanks for reviewing.

    Additional lighting support. As you can see in the render screenshot my bottle's shadow is not in exactly the correct angle compared to the other shadows. It was very hard to see if the angle was right from the previews so a shadow preview would be nice.

    Add specific lights and gpu setings make tools easier to use and find. Add better library of objects textures, water, etc. Better shadows are needed.

    Hello everyone! Thank you so much for your patience and interest in this idea over the last several years. At Adobe MAX 2018 we demoed a technology called Project Fantastic Fold, and over the last year we’ve been working on bringing that into reality.

    I’m pleased to say we’re opening our first private beta for Project Fantastic Fold, a tool for interactively folding dielines into 3D models.

    Work for multiple view windows hasn’t begun and is still in review. While we understand the value of multiple viewports we have a good bit of work to do on improving the one viewport we currently have. We’re focusing on the current composition, bookmark and render experience for this year but will probably start looking into multiple cameras and viewports more next year.

    Hey everyone! Today we announced the release of a new app – Adobe Substance 3D Stager.

    Stager builds on the foundation of Dimension but has a completely reworked infrastructure and is built for pro audiences.

    Stager incorporates Adobe Mercury Rendering Engine – with an entire new GPU backend for Vulkan APIs that is hardware agnostic. While the first release remains GPU rendering for NVIDIA cards only we are working with AMD for GPU support as well.

    I would like to see native support for 3D Connexion Mouse since that is what I use with my other 3D programs such as Poser 3D and DAZ Studio.

    This looks very promising, it would be nice to impliment control with a 3D mouse from 3Dconnexion to interface with the models. More control over rendering size and a meter showing how much time is left for the rendering.

    Hello all! While it’s a bit too early to give specifics, I wanted to say interop with After Effects is planned.

    I’ve seen some users doing it already by exporting the 3D object from Dimension in .obj and other formats, then importing to Ae and plugins like Video CoPilot.

    A more direct integration is something we’d love to do!

    It reminds me a lot of Cinema 4d. Not a bad thing but I think what would make this an awesome feature is if I could drop in my Ai or EPS files to turn those into 3d elements for video compositing in After Effects.

    I'm sure someone has brought it up before, but it would be amazing to be able to bring in illustrator files (ie logos) to create mockups in one easy step. As is you'd still have to bring the rendered result into photoshop and play with the lighting within photoshop to match what you rendered here. This would be mind blowing if it could work.

    I am a Data Visualization Designer, i often use Maya to import my Illustrator files to then extrude and create charts in 3D. Would be cool if down the road i could import illustrator components into Felix so i could just ditch Maya and stay within the Adobe cloud. Love the ease of Felix so far.

    I use STL files a lot for 3D printing, and I wanted to try rendering them to see what they'd look like beforehand in Felix. However, Felix doesn't seem to support STL files; only OBJ ones, which are a hassle to convert into and don't even seem to be successfully importing. Since STLs are so widely used for 3D printing and rendering, it'd be really helpful if you could directly import them. Thanks!

    is there that ability to add solid works par/ assembaly models? i like what this programs offers but its not much good if i can add my own products in to the sceens. i have ether missed the import option or it isnt there and probably needs to be.

    i would love simple navigation in the 3d viewport. im using wacom pen and coming from lightwave 3d simnce 20years. (alt=rotate/alt+ctrl=zoom/ctrl+shift=pan), using secondary buttons on the pen is very unconfortable, i prefer much not use it. great adobe trys to go 3d for imaging :)
