Thanks so much for your feedback, and for using Dimension!
Cross section of 3D models seems like a great idea to visualize complex objects/interiors and assign materials to them.
I’d love to understand more about your idea of using cross sections. Could you give some examples of how you would use this feature?
I am now working on my project "Armenian Ornaments Style Packaging Models".
My workflow starts in Ps where I am creating extrusion from Armenian ornament image and than use cross section for cutting and creation box parts =cap. bottom of package. Than I export each 3D model and finishing my design in Dimension.
Cross section in Dn will make easy that workflow and also will allow to create new shapes from simple objects. Just now the only possibility for cutting objects in Dn is using black&white images as textures for Opacity.
Hello everyone! I hope you’ve had a great holiday season. We’re just getting back from the break and I’m excited to say we’re moving forward with some great research and design on our dieline > 3D model feature. We have a survey with some questions from the research team. Any time is greatly appreciated!
Hello everyone! The Dimension team is very interested in the topic of creation/modeling/editing as a whole. We haven’t added any creation so far, but are actively researching this area. We have a new survey on modeling and editing and would love your thoughts on the topic!
We need booleans for creating free geometry object quickly without any special tool.
Interesting! Thanks for the suggestion. :)

Hey everyone, Jeanette with the Dimension team here. We are conducting a survey all about 3D Characters!
This survey takes 10 minutes to complete. The survey will remain open until Friday, March 22nd at 12:00 PM PT.
Here is the link for the survey:
At the end of the survey, you will have the option to indicate whether you are interested in participating in a 60-minute, 1:1 research interview about 3D characters. Selected participants will receive a $100 USD Amazon gift card as a thank you for their time, upon completion of the interview.
More formats .. more better. First come I prefer GIF/ PNG and GiFT,
Why we need to double this feature in Fx. as we can do that in PS?

So you’d like to load a .gif as a material on the surface and export an animation of that material on the object, correct? Sounds fun! :)
Happy New Year Jeanette!
Yes that can be interesting.,
I never try it in PS but for some project I use Video Files as textures and create creative animations. I never try with Gif format in Ps:)

We’ve begun work on a glTF/glB export which is available as a beta on our prerelease site. Please use the link to join the NDA community below, get early access to features, and provide feedback to the team.

Great suggestion! You do still have the manual camera controls in the upper-right corner of the viewport, but drawing a horizon does seem like it would help speed that up. :)
Can you talk more about what you’d like to do with the UVs and why?
I think we need to keep Fe as simple as we can. Not all users know 3D basic. The experience users can use PS for creating the same projects that can be done in Fe.
We need more 'creative clever features" for Fe.
Hello everyone. Excited to say we’ve started some investigations for adding text to Dimension later this year. We’re initially looking at 3D text but may also include 2D text or decal text in the future. I’ll update here as we progress!
