Very interesting topic. I think cloth simulation could be really fun to play with and definitely makes a lot of sense to have in some aspect. Thanks for attaching your example image, that’s very helpful.

I’d love to hear what other people think of this too.

There are a wealth of tools to modify 3D objects, but the many I have looked at and reviewed cannot easily connect with Adobe software and Blender has a pretty steep learning curve and not a very attractive (or simple) GUI.

There is also the question as to whether Felix will be part of CC, and if so, it could become more attractive to more designers and more types of designers.

As far as being full-featured modeling tool, I guess the question is: Where does Adobe see Felix in connection with other Adobe software? Is it to be a Bridge-like addition to Fuse? Will Photoshop be stripped of its 3D capabilities in favor of Felix? Is Felix to be mostly for non-3D designers and thus, must remain simple with its set of tools? Will it be fused with Fuse, thus eliminating Felix?

As exists with most other Adobe software, different "Workspaces" can be added, and therefore, the visible simplicity of the interface (showing an uncomplicated workflow) can be the default Workspace: "Basics-default" vs. "Advanced" vs. "Modeling" vs. ???

For Felix to be more useful to me than other 3D software, I would need a full-featured 3D designing app.

    Thanks for listening,

Yes! A full set of modeling tools would be nice, specifically target number of faces to have while maintaining a certain level of quality (kind of like Meshlab).

The Software Title Formerly Known as Flash Professional (TSTFKaFP) had a feature that estimated download times for Flash content based on chosen downloads speed. Some type of simulator like this would assist with quality vs. size of file decisions for 3D items to be placed on the Internet vs. elsewhere, etc.

Not sure if Felix prefers tris or quads when modelling, but it seems that much of the 3D industry has moved to quads; hence, any post-production outside of Felix might have better compatibility with quads.

Not sure if Felix will eventually allow for precision by manipulating the underlying mesh, but if it does, I would prefer working with quads.

    Thank you,

What I would like to be able to do is:

    (1) Go to the History panel.
    (2) Select individually or consecutively the steps in the History that I took to get to the result I achieved with the current object/image.
    (3) Right-click on the History panel or on one of the selected History states and be given an option to “Save as a PS Action” the selected history states.
    (4) Selected History states are saved as a Photoshop Action which can be used with other 3D objects/files.

    Am I making sense?

    Thanks,
    edsager

Jeanette - Yes, you are spot on with your assumption. I would describe it as: tear away the Render Mode screen and put it on a separate monitor (including an external monitor/TV for teaching purposes, which, of course, would be controlled by the OS).

I would also like to be able to move the preview screen around the Design mode screen as well as have the ability to place the preview on a new monitor.

Does the above explanation make my suggestion a new feature request? I can see how it would be....

    Thank you for listening,

Option to move and resize. Maybe even a preview of the rendering in the design section so we can keep abreast of the render progress.

Hey everyone, Jeanette with the Dimension team here. We are conducting a survey all about 3D Characters!

This survey takes 10 minutes to complete. The survey will remain open until Friday, March 22nd at 12:00 PM PT.

Here is the link for the survey:
    https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/FXGB5PD

At the end of the survey, you will have the option to indicate whether you are interested in participating in a 60-minute, 1:1 research interview about 3D characters. Selected participants will receive a $100 USD Amazon gift card as a thank you for their time, upon completion of the interview.

I would like the "round-trip" experience with Felix & Fuse that is had with InDesign and Photoshop (linked, updates automagically appear, manual and automatic updating of characters, more I cannot think of right now).

I would like to make models wearing the advertisement in different settings, or presentations of architectural creations with 3D people as part of the background for a 3D fly-by, rigging and animation of characters, and a round-trip with Photoshop for 3D painting, or 3D painting in Felix or both!

    Thanks for listening,
    edsager

Hi everyone. I wanted to let you know we do plan to add more layers to the .psd output including shadow/light passes, reflection and some other helpful bits. I’ll keep you updated as we get closer on this one.

Great suggestion. You can currently do 3D painting in Photoshop and then export the model as an .obj file so I think the key here with this request is to have a more live-linked experience. Could you talk more about what you’d want there?
