    Hello everyone! I’m very happy to say we have not only gotten M1 Rosetta emulation working for Stager but were also able to quickly get it working on Dimension as well.

    Apple Mac just doesn't put any effort into Gpu and only cares about the Cpu... making a computer with both Gpu and Cpu is something Microsoft Windows brings to the table and that is why its often called a gaming system

    doing any streaming, capture, rendor or ray tracing on a Mac is like running a race with only one leg and watching Mac-fans hop would be funny if it wasn't so sad

    @R Taylor Photoshop fails to detect your M1 because there was no such thing back when the script was made and since you don't have a compatible chip it disables 3D... this is by design

    nothing to do with Dimension but yes getting anything (not just 3D) to work with new chipsets takes time and effort which isn't always considered a good investment because it may not work out

    Hey everyone! Today we announced the release of a new app – Adobe Substance 3D Stager.

    Stager builds on the foundation of Dimension but has a completely reworked infrastructure and is built for pro audiences.

    Stager incorporates Adobe Mercury Rendering Engine – with an entire new GPU backend for Vulkan APIs that is hardware agnostic. While the first release remains GPU rendering for NVIDIA cards only we are working with AMD for GPU support as well.

    Adobe is not going to change... In a lot of ways they're going backwards but yes Ryzen blows everything else out of the water... Goto some of other forums where real people post their actual system results

    My i7 laptop with 12G ram did a glass bottle in 26 minutes

    Then I added another bottle to the scene and jumped on the Ryzen desktop with 24G ram... That did the rendor in 57 second

    Size does matter... Good luck

    yes prerelease is free but its not a good idea to try and run them on the same Windows system as the public release mate

    Hi everyone. I wanted to let you know we do plan to add more layers to the .psd output including shadow/light passes, reflection and some other helpful bits. I’ll keep you updated as we get closer on this one.

    XD makes a ui layout, save file | or export to Dimension which rendors that layout to a 3D model of whatever ipad device?

    yes this is possible and easy to code

    As of January 11, 2021, Cloud Rendering (beta) has been removed from Dimension.

    Thank you for all who participated in using the beta during this time and for the exceptional feedback provided to the team! We are continuing to develop our rendering solutions including in-app, cloud, and automation offerings and you can expect more rendering news in future releases.

    Hi Aubry,
    I assume you have a Windows system so fyi the update Dimension button on the Adobe CC app is giving you a fake message... do not press update if you have the prerelease installed because it places the public version instead and often also buggers up your files mate

    I don’t see them as mutually exclusive but full online functionality implies desktop* ui to me… if we can at least do the rendor then an older windows 7 laptop working in Antarctica is just as capable of using Felix as a custom gaming rig.

    *the dream is a phone | tablet being able to process ‘in the field’ but the reality of phone ui design that works isn’t easy.

    the option to work on line with a browser (like the Mixamo fuse online animation tools) would open the software up to people without high end systems and make it more attractive to schools for teaching basic animation courses... Adobe CC is well and good but there are major issues with their networking and this would also work around that roadblock

    Hello everyone! Thank you so much for your patience and interest in this idea over the last several years. At Adobe MAX 2018 we demoed a technology called Project Fantastic Fold, and over the last year we’ve been working on bringing that into reality.

    I’m pleased to say we’re opening our first private beta for Project Fantastic Fold, a tool for interactively folding dielines into 3D models.

    sounds nice but if I'm honest, I prob wouldn't use it because I don't think Illustrator is the best tool for the job

    Hello everyone! I wanted to thank you for a lot of patience on the topic of creation and modeling in Dimension. I thought I’d provide a small update here.

    Dimension 3.2 just released with our first native creation features, including text and basic shapes.

    In the future we do expect to have some more creation like vector extrusion and lathing, but don’t have a release timeline for that yet.

    I will l say we are also working on some cool mesh editing capabilities, so you can customize models instead of having to start from scratch.

    I hope to update here soon with more progress, but in the mean time, I hope you enjoy text and shapes!

    thats a bugger but thanks for the heads up... is the fact that other file types are in the list a hint that they are being worked on Jeanette?

    a rendoring system is great as long as there is something worth rendoring... a fuse model can already go into photoshop so I'd be more interrested in being able to add things to a fuse model in Felix

    eg, instead of a clock and a ball we could have outfits "hats, dress etc" and props "gun, swords, handbags etc"... the base meshs are already there in many cases

    p.s, photoshop can do the textures for these props | extras and all three save to the CC lib ... which is a much better way to use the products imo

    The latest release of Dimension now includes. a control preset for Substance Painter which is similar to the 3D industry standard of Alt being the main camera control activator.

    However, this only controls the camera presets, not additional tools like WER for move, rotate, scale.

    We’d love some feedback from anyone who tries out this preference on whether camera controls being similar to other 3D apps is helpful without additional controls presets for other tools like the transform tools.
