We’ve resolved some past issues of some users not being able to use Dimension, however there is a known issue still remaining.
Video cards that do not support a specific instruction set (AVX/AVX2) will not be able to run Dimension. This is primarily video cards from early 2012 or earlier.
At this time our System Requirements checker is unable to ‘catch’ this and leads to the application crashing on the Start Screen when the New Document or Get Started buttons are clicked.
At this time we are unable to fix this issue or catch to throw an error. We are continuing investigation on this.

Thanks for the update. It would be helpful if that bug with the stuck start screen could be fixed, so I can finally use Felix on my iMac
When is there going to be a new release?
Btw, yesterday I tried a workaround (which didn't work): I saved an empty project from my computer where Felix works, and tried to open it on the computer where I can't get past the start screen. All I am getting is an empty canvas, which is at least one step further, but still no solution.
I have the same problem with my 27" iMac on MacOS. It works fine on the same machine on Windows 10 using Bootcamp. It also works fine on my 2011 MBP on MacOS, but rendering takes much longer
Hey all, just wanted to give a little update on Animation for Dimension. We believe animation is an important part of working with 3D and do plan to include animation features in the future, however it will not be for 2019. Likely this will start in 2020 but I’ll update as we get closer!
Hello everyone! Just wanted to say we are starting work on some lighting features this year. While I don’t know the full scope of what we’ll be able to release this year yet, some areas we’re exploring are:
More directional lights (like the sun) with a lightpainting interface to create custom environment lights.
Improvements to our Match Image feature to be able to detect and generate multiple indoor lights.
Improvements to glow materials to make them more expressive.
Additions of haze, environmental atmosphere, etc.
Last, but not least, actual 3D placed light objects.
I’ll update here when we have a more scoped vision or a prototype for testing! :)
Hello everyone! The Dimension team is very interested in the topic of creation/modeling/editing as a whole. We haven’t added any creation so far, but are actively researching this area. We have a new survey on modeling and editing and would love your thoughts on the topic!
Work for multiple view windows hasn’t begun and is still in review. While we understand the value of multiple viewports we have a good bit of work to do on improving the one viewport we currently have. We’re focusing on the current composition, bookmark and render experience for this year but will probably start looking into multiple cameras and viewports more next year.
It would be great to have the option to look at the scene from three views (x/y/z) in order to position items in the 3d space. Right now I have to move the camera around to get an idea of the scene, which is not a good user experience, because that way I am also losing my camera view
