    Hey everyone, Jeanette with the Dimension team here. We are conducting a survey all about 3D Characters!

    I've once had the necessity to use a human figure on Dimension. I had to render each camera twice, one with the human figure, and another without it. I then mixed the two in Photoshop and had the silhouette painted in solid grey.

    It would be nice if I could get Fuse characters rendered in Dimensions like this ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pLAx6pND1dg ) as an option. Maybe with a possibility to have simple transparency as well.

    Hello everyone! Just wanted to say we are starting work on some lighting features this year. While I don’t know the full scope of what we’ll be able to release this year yet, some areas we’re exploring are:

    More directional lights (like the sun) with a lightpainting interface to create custom environment lights.

    Improvements to our Match Image feature to be able to detect and generate multiple indoor lights.

    Improvements to glow materials to make them more expressive.

    Additions of haze, environmental atmosphere, etc.

    Last, but not least, actual 3D placed light objects.

    I’ll update here when we have a more scoped vision or a prototype for testing! :)

    We released Dimension 1.1 today which has some great performance boosts. Scenes now render an average of 20% faster. In our tests the actual increase was up to 67% faster but the gain is variable for the complexity of the scene and the quality of the render.

    However, we’re not done and will continue to optimize performance, especially for rendering times. Please enjoy the increase and look forward to more!

    Hi!

    This is an interesting idea, and while it seems to be specific to hide/unhide objects, I think this can also be solved by having the ability to have multiple scenes open in Dimension. I know it is not as elegant as the method you suggested, but something that is under review :

    I wouldn't mind sharing the file, but please tell how to do it in private, since the mesh and textures are part of a comercial product under development.

    The dialogue window you've mentioned popped out, it's true.
    But I don't get anything else besides the word "Loading" and a rolling bar.

    I'd like to be able to see the loading bar to actually show the progress from 0% to 100% and some text like "Loading Geometry 1_1000_WheelAxle-F", so that when it's taking a lot of time to work, or gets stuck at a particular thing, I can know what is going on and what I could do to get over the problem.

    The model somewhat showed up on the Design Mode screen as the Dialogue Window popped, but stayed like that for more than 30min.

    I had to kill the process...

    Very interesting topic. I think cloth simulation could be really fun to play with and definitely makes a lot of sense to have in some aspect. Thanks for attaching your example image, that’s very helpful.

    I’d love to hear what other people think of this too.

    Thanks for the great write-up! We’ve considered a ‘game-style’ mode of navigation using WASD/QE keys. It’s an interesting approach that has been fun for me in some game engines and other platforms. We do have all of these controls available, but seems like your request here is really to have a custom keybind and control scheme for the movement.

    We do have a Focal Length/FoV control in the Camera settings when you select the scene. Aperature/Depth of Field/F-Stop is coming soon!

    Exposure Time/Motion Blur is not on the list right now, but definitely something we’re keeping in mind.

    I hate DAE's. I'd prefer a direct import from a SketchUp, Inventor, Catia or SolidWorks file like 3dsMax currently does, rather than using DAE's, OBJ's or 3DS's.

    Hello everyone! I know it’s been quiet on the GPU side of things for a while now. I wanted to let you know it’s been actively under the works for a bit, but a lot going on behind the scenes. Here’s what I can say so far!

    In Dimension 2.0 we’ve launched an entire new rendering engine, the Adobe Dimension Renderer. This is an in-house rendering engine which allows us to have more direct control over many things. We’re actively working on GPU support and have our first beta proof for the RTX cards, demoed at Adobe MAX last week:

    This includes an overhaul to being able to interact with the render mode, so thinking about both rendering during design work and as final renders. We’re still working on this and are looking to port the technologies to new cards and platforms (AMD, Mac Metal, etc.)

    It would be really AWESOME if we could use GPU accelerated graphics rendering! I have a GTX 1070 and I would really benefit from using it for Felix instead of relying completely on the Intel i7 CPU. Those who use Quadros would even be more grateful!

    Hi everyone. I wanted to let you know we do plan to add more layers to the .psd output including shadow/light passes, reflection and some other helpful bits. I’ll keep you updated as we get closer on this one.
