Add a wireframe material/shader or render option.
Need to render an object as a 'digital model' so I
thought it would be cool to have a material that makes the object look like a wireframe model ...

Thanks for the suggestion! Very interesting. I’m curious what the core thing you’re trying to do is, though.

Do you want it to import to the same location so that it’s visible because your camera is looking one way and it’s importing behind you? Or is it more about composition, like you’re placing it near that object so want to start there?

Currently we always import objects to the origin of the scene (0,0,0) because different objects might be broken into pieces but intended to align that way. Some other options could be:
    - Import to selection as you described above
    - Import to center of current view
    - Not at import but have additional controls for “move to this object” or “center to my view” type of functionality.

Lots possible here, and none of it is particularly hard, so more understanding the why you want this.

Hey everyone! I saw a good number of new questions here, so thought I’d respond to everyone with an update. Unfortunately we still don’t have true ‘vector’ support in Dimension.

Whatever ‘size’ and resolution your vector is in Illustrator is what it’s going to be applied as in Dimension. When importing to Dimension we convert it to a .png and use that.

I recommend using a minimum of about 1000×1000 size images from Ai or Ps. 2000×2000 is better. 4000×4000 is best! ;D

This quality reduction can also be cause because of the way 3D models work. The entire image you use is shared across the model and then only as a part of the canvas based on camera zoom. So you could be zooming in to part of the model and rendering it at a higher resolution than the graphic was originally.

Decal resolution can also be affected by…

I think there are some simple render settings possible, like a slider to adjust the render time/performance, just for the more 'unexperienced' users.
For professionals it might be useful to adjust the CPU-usage and parallel threads and a bit more.
(Maybe a bit like 'Cinebench' from MAXON ...)

Working in Photoshop while rendering isn't really fun right now.

(Little Workaround for Windows 10 users: You can change the CPU priority in the task manager!)

Hello everyone! Just wanted to say we are starting work on some lighting features this year. While I don’t know the full scope of what we’ll be able to release this year yet, some areas we’re exploring are:

More directional lights (like the sun) with a lightpainting interface to create custom environment lights.

Improvements to our Match Image feature to be able to detect and generate multiple indoor lights.

Improvements to glow materials to make them more expressive.

Additions of haze, environmental atmosphere, etc.

Last, but not least, actual 3D placed light objects.

I’ll update here when we have a more scoped vision or a prototype for testing! :)

Saving a PSD after the render process adds standardized layers in the PSD. DOF, Material etc. ...
Why not making it possible to adjust what kind of layers I need. It might be possible that there are much more layers that might be interesting for users.
