Hi all! I just wanted to give a quick update, since GPU rendering has been out as a beta for a little while. The initial beta was built on NVidia Optix backend and only worked for some Nvidia cards. Thank you for all of the feedback so far!

One issue we’re hearing is that the GPU renderer errors out and then Dimension doesn’t show the GPU as supported again. Updating to the latest video card drivers is recommended and may resolve this issue.

We’re actively working on rebuilding the GPU rendering in a different way, so it’s available to all users across all hardware (Nvidia, AMD, MSI, etc).

We’ll update the status here as we get closer to a beta of the next version of GPU rendering.

It is official - this product is niche and perhaps a spare-time project of Adobe employees - Last year they said this can be expected this year, now they say additional GPU's will be next year... you know, in software development such timescales are unacceptable, but I understand why - they probably only have some 2 engineers and maybe a handful of interns working on this. Imagine if Premiere was introduced today and had no GPU support of ot the box! This application should have hybrid CPU/GPU rendering from the outset as a core design requirement. The way it was handled it was UI first, then worry about how to render when it actually started to take up a shape.

This is laughable - 3d rendering application without planned GPU rendering support - what's next, Adobe? - new app for drawing without pen support? "We are focusing on improving mouse-based drawing at this time"?

This is a must, what are you thinking?

Hello all! I wanted to make a quick update on Cloud Render! This is still in the free beta period, but with our latest release (Dimension 2.3, which went live today July 16th), we’ve increased the size limit from 2000×2000 pixels to 4000×4000 pixels. Enjoy the higher resolution renders!

Why do you insist on CPU-only rendering? I don't want cloud rendering, I have monster GPU, all I need is your 3d application to support it, like any other respectable 3d applications do from the outset and since 2000.
