Hey everyone! Today we announced the release of a new app – Adobe Substance 3D Stager.

Stager builds on the foundation of Dimension but has a completely reworked infrastructure and is built for pro audiences.

Stager includes support for CAD import including dozens of new formats, the full list can be found in the Stager documentation:

CAD Import is only available for those with the Enterprise version of the Substance 3D Collection plan. More information on this plan is available here:

You can find more information about Stager here:

I was excited to see this email come in...until I noticed that it wasn't included with the Adobe Creative Suite package like Dimension had been. Then I was even more disappointed when I saw that it was $40/month and that there was an additional subscription to add CAD file integration (of which there was no information available).

Since this was a replacement for Dimension, why was this made to be completely separate from Creative Suite?

I do printing and graphic design. To be able to offer photorealistic rendering options to manufacturers without having to purchase an expensive professional 3D CAD program would be incredible. Many 3D CAD programs don't have an option to save to OBJ or the other formats you're working on but all have the capability to export to IGS/IGES or STP/STEP.

Is there an anticipated time frame as to when testing with IGS or STP files will begin?
