We’ve started work on displacement, height, and bump support! We have it actively working to some level and will hopefully have some testing soon. I’ll provide a status update soon!

We plan on adding a depth slider for decals to give embossing and debossing effects in the future. I don’t have a specific timeline for that yet, but it’s on our roadmap!

Dimension uses the Adobe Standard Material which is based off of the NVidia MDL language. Our supported extension is ‘.mdl’, but it does require the Adobe Standard Material type. You can create MDLs using Substance Painter and Designer at the moment.

For MTL we do have a conversion process when importing it along with an .obj but we do not have a standalone MTL importer yet. This is something we can add though. Since this is an idea based forum I’ll edit this question to be a proposal to support importing MTL materials.

The survey for this feature seems to be missing the point. Any other 3D software can easily save materials to libraries that can be loaded for other projects. It's frustrating that this is not possible with Dimension. I'd expect to be able to drag and drop materials and objects to a personal library.
